Remembering Ipswich-Rowley President Raymond Morley
Ray Morley will be remembered for his service, compassion, and generosity.  As the members of the Ipswich-Rowley Rotary Club mourn the passing of our beloved sitting President, we do so with the memory of what he represented both in Rotary and to the community.  Generous to a fault, Ray didn’t know how to say no; he freely helped anyone, in any way he could.  He epitomized the Rotary motto of ‘Service Above Self’.

As a former Selectman, service organization leader, local entrepreneur and Chef, Ray was well positioned to help his community.  For many years before becoming our 99th club President in July, he was a reliable and indispensable supporter of club hosted events, preparing most of the food we served and often donating the facilities of his Inn. Following the disastrous Mother’s Day Flood of 2006, the club honored Ray with its ‘Person of the Year’ award to recognize his tireless efforts and extreme generosity in supporting displaced families and heroic relief workers.

Robert C Wood Memorial Heroes Celebration 2022

Registration is now open & program book ads / sponsorships can be purchased online

Thursday, November 10th will be our annual Rotary Foundation event, but this year we are renaming it the “ROBERT C. WOOD MEMORIAL HEROES CELEBRATION” in honor and memory of our friend, the late Past District Governor Bob Wood (2018-19). This event will be starting at 5:30 PM at the Danversport and we hope that many of you will be attending. The evening will include a social hour, silent auction, dinner, and Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) presentations.

Online registration is now open - please click here to purchase your tickets! This page also includes all the details about the dinner menu for the event as well as the program outline.

In addition, we invite all businesses in the district to support the event by taking out an ad in the program book or becoming a sponsor for the event. In addition we now offer the option to purchase a small Well Wisher listing (two lines, text only, approximately 20 words).  Program book ads, sponsorships, and well wisher listings can be purchased online here!

As a reminder, all Rotary Club are invited to nominate a hero from their community to present them with a PHF recognition at the event. Candidates could be doctors, nurses, teachers, crossing guards, emergency services personnel, veterans, or anyone else whom the Rotary Club believes to be a community hero. The online nomination form has been sent to Club Presidents and Foundation Chairs, and the nomination deadline is October 10th. Please send your heroes nominations ASAP!

We would also like to ask all Rotary Clubs to start thinking about silent auction items: we would ideally like to see items with a minimum value of $200, so that people will be eager to bid high and bid often! All monies raised in the silent auction will directly go to The Rotary Foundation! The Online Auction submission form as also been sent to Club Presidents and Foundation Chairs.
