The District Leadership is excited to announce the 2017-2018 Rotary Citation recipients.

The Rotary Clubs of Amesbury, Beverly, Boston, Burlington, Cambridge, Danvers, Greater Salem, NH, Ipswich, Manchester-Essex, Marblehead, Medford, Reading, Salem, Saugus, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester, and Woburn all exceeded the requirements to achieve this prestigious award. Congratulations to the Presidents and to every member on your role in this success.
As Governor, I encouraged Presidents to meet with their club leadership, develop and enter goals and engage their members to meet them. It is through this effort that the clubs in the District made such positive progress in so many areas.

Here is a summary of the excellent results that our Rotarians achieved during the 2017-2018 Rotary year:

Membership
  • 2 net new members after four consecutive years of declining members
  • increased retention from 90% to 95%
Foundation Giving
  • $214,380 to the Annual Fund with a per capita giving of $120.85 - the second best in recent history
  • $103,156 to Polio Plus through the Plunge and another $20,000 from District Designated Funds. The District was awarded two certificates at the Zone Institute this year: Highest Polio Plus Contribution from any District and the 2nd Highest per capita District in Zone 32. Hats off to every Rotarian and friend who plunged, donated or cheered us on!
Dollars and Service Hours
  • 26 Clubs reported goals of service hours
  • 245 Club projects that covered a complete spectrum of service
  • 5,415 Volunteer hours making positive impact
  • $197,668 Dollars donated into their communities to Make a Difference
This is what it is all about. I am 100% sure that our clubs provided hundreds or thousands more volunteer hours and probably 2-3 times more in the way of donations into our communities. For the clubs that did not receive the Presidential Citation this year, work with DG Bob Wood, your Assistant Governors and your Executive Team to create and work towards the goals set out in the Presidential Citations for the 2018-2019 Rotary year. Please know that your efforts were still part of the great success the collection of clubs in District 7930 achieved this year.

Our Rotarians are remarkable and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you do to make the world a better place. Keep up the great work, and continue to be People of Action.
