As we approach the end of 2019 and start a new year and a new decade, it’s a great time to reflect on your commitment to OUR Rotary Foundation and create your Rotary legacy. In March of 2019, DG Joan & DGE Betsy, with the blessing of then DG Bob, announced our district’s Million Dollar Journey to support the Rotary Foundation.

Now you might be asking, “what is a Million Dollar Journey?” The idea originated in District 5110 in Oregon in 2014 with the goal to raise a minimum of $1 Million in new donations for the programs of The Rotary Foundation with minimum donations of $10,000 from each donor in cash or a bequest. Our journey started in March 2019 and will conclude on October 15, 2020. We will celebrate our Million Dollar Journey on Thursday, October 15, 2020 by unveiling the exact amount of money we’ve raised for the Rotary Foundation during this time period. Our guest speaker for the evening is Past RI President and Trustee Chair (2020-21) Ravi Ravindran.

Are you wondering, “how can I be part of this journey and the celebration in October 2020?” That’s easy, all you have to do is make a NEW gift to the Rotary Foundation (between now and October 2020) of at least $10,000 cash or at least a $10,000 bequest. Of course, you can make a larger gift and some of the Rotarians in D7930 have already done exactly that. If you make a gift of $25,000 or more, you can name it, after your family or yourself.

Do you want to know, “who can help me with my questions?” A Million Dollar Journey Committee has been formed and club assignments have been made. These Rotarians are prepared to come to your club and make a presentation about the Million Dollar Journey and to answer your questions – please reach out to them. Below are the committee members and their assignments:
