The Nominating Committee is pleased to announce  Betsy Manzelli as the selection for the District Governor for the 2020-2021 Rotary year. Her passion and commitment to service, especially with her long-term focus on youth development will provide the foundation for her to be a very successful Governor, and one that will engage our future leaders.

Betsy has been an integral and dedicated member of the Hamilton-Wenham Rotary club, and has been instrumental in integrating young people with Rotary initiatives in the community. As a member, she has served as the club’s Youth Exchange Officer, Interact Advisor, Board Member, and President.

Betsy has always been highly involved in the local community and joined Rotary nearly ten years ago, after her eldest daughter participated in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.

Betsy has been a board member of the Hamilton Wenham Rotary Club since 2011 and in 2013, she served as president for the club. For the past 7 years, she has been an active participant in the Polar Plunge, involving both Interact and Youth Exchange Students in the club’s fundraising efforts for Polio Plus and braving the frigid waters of the Atlantic with her students at the plunge each year.
Since joining Rotary, Betsy has also been highly involved in the District’s Youth Exchange Program and Eastern States Student Exchange (ESSEX). In 2011, she became the Youth Exchange Chair and has served in that capacity for the past seven years. In 2017, Betsy joined the ESSEX Executive Committee. In addition to her official involvement as the Youth Exchange Chair, Betsy and her family have hosted 15 students from around the world.

In 2012, Betsy was named a Paul Harris Fellow as a recognition for her exceptional dedication to service and for her contributions to Rotary.

Outside of Rotary, Betsy is an Office Manager/Paralegal and Bookkeeper for Richmond & Associates, a small law firm in Danvers, MA.

Originally from Rockport, MA, Betsy now lives in Hamilton with her husband of 29 years, Michael.  Together, they have two daughters, Brianna who works for the U.S. Senate in Washington D.C. and Allison who is a nurse in the Brigham and Women Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
