The Rotary Club of Chelsea hosted the Chelsea High School Interact Club members who participated in Student Government Day during a recent meeting.  The students spent the morning at the Chelsea City hall obtaining an understanding of how the City of Chelsea functions.  The students were greeted by City Manager Thomas G. Ambrosino.  They were then shown a slide show presentation of the city department heads describing their roles in running the city.  After the slide show the students were assigned to the various department heads to spend the rest of the morning observing how each department functioned.
At the end of the morning the students were transported to the Homewood Suites Hotel for lunch with the Rotary Club of Chelsea.  The Student Government Day was the result of a collaboration between members of city government and Chelsea Rotarians.  Members of city government involved in organizing the successful event were Diane Carey, Human Resources Director, Jessica Kahlenberg, Manager Innovation and Strategy Advisor, Odelisa Macedo, Human Resources Analyst and Ledia Koco, City Council Administrative Assistant.  Assisting with the coordination of the event were Jacqueline Flood, CHS Interact Faculty Advisor, Fazila Nasimi, CHS Interact Club President, and Chelsea Rotarians Reverend Dr. Sandra G. Whitley, Chelsea Rotary Club Interact Advisor and Maureen Foley from the Homewood Suites.  Other supporters were Rotarian Juan Gallego and Chelsea Police Department representative Officer Sammy Mojica.  The luncheon was co-sponsored by Kayem Foods.
