Looking for creative ways your club can raise funds for the Annual Fund SHARE? Look no further!
Circles of Gold: create Circles of Gold in your club by asking 5 members to join each circle. Each person in the circle agrees to donate $200 per year to the Annual Fund SHARE. Either have the Rotarian use rotary direct to contribute or collect a check from them each year by the end of April. If you collect a check, make sure to send to RI in the Rotarian’s name so they receive credit for their contribution. The Circle of Gold then combines their points which would equal 1000 and can honor a member of their circle with a Paul Harris recognition or another person. Some Circles are all women, others a mixed group. Make it fun! And have the club appoint a team leader to help recruit should a member drop out and to help with PH recognition.
Blue Re-Usable Stadium Cups: buy re-usable (plastic) stadium cups and put the Rotary logo on the front. Give the cup out to all members and then make sure you give them out to new members as they on-board. Ask members to take the cup home or to work and to place all of their spare change in the cup. Once filled, have them bring it to your meeting and celebrate that person. Then have the treasurer/Foundation Chair submit the monies under that person’s name as a contribution to Annual Fund SHARE.
Pass the Bucket: purchase a large blue bucket and put either candy or some small trinket in the bottom. Label the bucket Annual Fund SHARE. Pass the bucket at the meeting for people to contribute. These monies would be allocated to the club for points rather than an individual.
More traditional ways: have giving as part of your dues and/or ask when paying dues for members to consider donating; do a 50/50 raffle and give 50% to the Annual Fund SHARE at each meeting; hold silent auctions at your fundraisers and designate a portion to the Annual Fund SHARE.
Remember, giving to the Annual Fund SHARE returns to our district in 3 years to support our district (local and international) grants and global grants. Please give today!
