First, the environmental committee met on June 26th and we will continue to meet the last Thursday of every month at 7 pm. If you would like to join, please contact me and I will send you the zoom link. Water conservation, pollinator gardens, clean-ups, plastic pledges and zero waste events are just some ideas we discussed. Is your club working on an environmental project, large or small, we want to hear from you!
Second, I had the great pleasure of attending the district installation of Pooja Singla on June 20th at the Danversport Yacht Club. It was a great event full of fun, but I was immediately struck with the realization that this was a Zero Waste Event. While I'm sure this wasn't everyone's first thought, these are the things I think about everyday. Every club has the ability to host zero waste events, please reach out to me for tips to make your next event more environmentally friendly. Kudos to Pooja and the planning team for creating a fun and low waste event.
Last, Plastic Free July is here! My passion is plastic reduction and I would love to come speak to your club. Whether I've been to your club before or not, invite me for the first time for an information presentation on plastic facts you may not be aware of, or, invite me back for a fun BINGO game. Each square contains plastic reduction swap ... the more you've done, the better your chances of winning.
Hope to see you at our next meeting on July 31 at 7 pm.
