Burlington Breakfast Rotary Co-President, Gloria Birungi, was taken in by ICE earlier this month while at Logan Airport traveling for a work conference. She has been held in ICE detention without release.Gloria, she has been Co-President of the Burlington Breakfast Rotary for two years, is a single mother of three wonderful children ages 7-13, holds two jobs and still finds time to give of herself for volunteering.
We are reaching out to as many fellow Rotarians as possible to be there to support Gloria at her hearing on August 10 at 9 a.m. in Chelmsford. We will all wear our Rotary shirts!
This is NOT a political protest. This is a humanitarian cause. We need Gloria to be returned to her children while her case is being adjudicated.
Her hearing is scheduled for: August 10 at 9 a.m., Chelmsford Immigration Court, 150 Apollo Drive, Chelmsford, MA
