Here is an update from one of our Outbound Global Scholars, Acadia Thielking.  Acadia is pursuing a Masters in Epidemiology at the Imperial College in London.  She is a 2024 Global Scholar in the Rotary Foundation’s Area of Focus of Disease Prevention and Treatment

Acadia recently wrote to Bob Mansfield, our District Outbound Global Scholar Chair:

Hi Bob, I hope all is well with you! I’m just finishing up my first term and wanted to send over some highlights 😃

I attended the Southeast Rotary Conference in Eastbourne (little city by the sea) with Nolene and some other London scholars! It was great to meet so many new people and we went on a hike nearby which was beautiful!

At school, I really enjoyed the first term classes and I’m excited to take some more electives in infectious disease modeling next term. I’ve enjoyed meeting and learning from my classmates from all over the world!

I hope all is well in Boston and that you have a happy holiday season!

P.S. The first term was great! The professors were very enthusiastic and it was great to collaborate with students from all over :) I am excited for more disease modeling electives next term!

Very fun to get to explore London as well! It’s so festive around the holiday.
