On Thursday, August 31st, the Haverhill Rotary club had the pleasure of awarding Angela Walukevich with the 2017 Linda Sundell Scholarship. She was joined at the weekly lunch by her Mom Peggy and Linda's brother Paul Rheaume and sister Paula Churchill.

The Linda Sundell Scholarship is near and dear to the clubs’ heart as a past member and board member. Linda touched all who knew her with her positive compassion for people and her joy for life. She exemplified what it means to live a life of meaning that is greater than oneself, and she always encouraged the best in others.
While Linda held various positions of employment in the Merrimack Valley region, her service to the region goes beyond that. Linda served as President of the Board of Directors for the Haverhill YWCA, was a member and as a past board member of the Haverhill Rotary Club, was on the Advisory Board for Northern Essex Community College Travel and Tourism Department, volunteered at Ruth’s House, served on the Board of Directors for Sarah’s Place, and was involved in many other civic and charitable events throughout the area.

In addition to her work and service, Linda was a positive mentor and role model to her family and friends and to any woman (young and old) she spent time with. This scholarship is given in recognition of Linda’s incredible commitment to community service, and the way she touched the lives and hearts of others.

We wish Angela luck on her journey at Merrimack College and look forward to having her come visit for lunch and update us on all she is continuing to do in the world.
