A major initiative for our Club this year has been to re-establish an Interact Club at the Manchester-Essex Regional High School (MERHS). After a couple meetings with a supportive school administration, we had a terrific introductory discussion with upwards of 25 students at a local pizza place that was informed and made more relevant with neighboring Interact student leaders from Gloucester and Ipswich - special thanks to Serena and Keith.

Led by Past President Jen Doane there were several follow-up discussions with a few students most interested in starting a Club when they hit upon the idea of a fun Polar Plunge fundraiser. On Saturday Feb. 15 we had about 15 Polar Plungers most of whom were students who raised more than $800 in support of Polio eradication. Our Club has agreed to match the raised funds so that our total donation is approximately $1,700. As important, one of our adult plungers is a school faculty member who has expressed interest in serving as the Interact Faculty Advisor. More to follow as we chart a new course for MERHS Interact.
