David Deutsch was formally installed as the new President of the Marblehead Rotary Club. Deutsch accepted the presidency and was handed the gavel from Dr. Keith Taylor, Marblehead Rotary Club’s acting Sergeant-at-Arms. Deutsch follows the successful term of outgoing President Ron Amon.
In his acceptance speech, Deutsch stressed that “making a difference in people’s lives” was a major motivating factor for joining Rotary and for accepting a leadership role. He warmly reflected on his daughter, Sophie, who recently won two medals at the Maccabee games in Israel. Her trip to compete was supported by the club.
As its newly installed president, Deutsch challenged the Marblehead Rotary Club membership to strengthen its promise to raise funds for scholarships and to assist where there is a need within our town and around the world. He also challenged members to broaden the membership and add to its ranks. Deutsch intends to help this effort by tightening our involvements with other clubs and with the Interact Clubs (high school) and Rotaract Clubs (young adults) in our district.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun” Deutsch promised the membership about the coming year. And, Deutsch thanked the membership for its selfless support of him and support for the community.

In other business, the club also formally installed a new Board of Directors.
