Holiday Pops Reimagined 2020
Sat, Dec 12, 2020, 7pm
Virtual Concert

If you can imagine a Winter Wonderland filled with beautiful children’s voices, holiday stories, lovely orchestral music, solos and duets, Santa Claus and Chanukah, all sprinkled with Marblehead memories and tributes, then you will begin to see what HOLIDAY POPS REIMAGINED 2020 will be. The virtual concert will take on Saturday December 12 at 7:00 pm. It’s FREE, though donations are welcome. The virtual concert can be viewed on Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor Facebook page.

Master of Ceremonies Henry Dembowski will lead us on a musical journey of the best of Holiday Pops concerts, past and present. Maestro Dirk Hillyer has generously contributed excerpts from earlier Hillyer Orchestra Pops performances, and coordinated new presentations. Bette Lautner has worked with local musicians from elementary through high school and college, as well as professional performers, who will lend their talents to this exuberant evening. Judith Black has recorded these performers. Beloved Christmas and Chanukah stories will combine with memories of Marbleheaders who have loved this annual event for so many years. Santa will visit, and we can all sing along with some of our favorites, as we go a-caroling virtual style.

The Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor has contributed to many special projects, several of which will be highlighted during the concert. Rotary President Patricia Sullivan will talk about RCOMH expanding physical therapy services in Nepal, and former President Kathleen Murphy will talk about Project Kindness, RCOMH’s response to the current Covid -19 crisis. The proceeds of the event are donated by RCOMH to local Marblehead charitable organizations, including the Marblehead Food Bank, Marblehead Female Humane Society, Marblehead Council on Aging, SPUR and Marblehead Afterschool Programs. Your support will aid all of these groups during this time of need. Please plan to join us in celebrating the holiday season by attending this joyful concert evening!
