The Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor (RCoMH) had the pleasure of hearing from Sherry Fein and Sue Abrams who provided an update on the children’s playground at the Yakini Primary School in Arusha, Tanzania. Ms. Fein and Ms. Abrams, with the help and support of the RCoMH, were able to secure $30,000 to construct the playground including $3,000 coming directly from RCoMH.  The playground, which includes a trampoline and zip line,  benefits 600 children including 80 orphans.  Local residents learned new skills during construction of the playground - an added benefit which helped secure new employment opportunities.
The playground project is just one of several projects that are the focus of the Living Water Children’s Fund. As Sherry likes to say, “We look for places in the world where there are children in need.”

In 2008, Sherry Fine established LWCC Fund as  a 501(c)(3) and developed a Board of Directors to oversee Living Water Children’s Centre located in Arusha, Tanzania. Since then, LWCC Fund has expanded its scope to include many projects around the world, primarily in Africa and Haiti.
