As Senior Project approaches and the Marblehead High School Interact Club readies their election to bring in new leadership for the coming year, we are very proud to reflect on our accomplishments and share them with you.

Our club, connecting our local Rotary International Clubs to the high school level, known as Interact, has been active for about 20 years. We work annually to bring a sense of global and local needs to light and do our best to learn about and assist in any way that we can.

This year, we have given almost $1,000 to Kiva Loans. Kiva is a micro loan application that we have been using for close to 10 years and we give small loans to the collaborative efforts to fund the needs of small communities around the world. We have also donated 2 Shelter Boxes, which are just as they sound, a large box which is deployed to disaster areas, with enough supplies to shelter and supply a family for an indefinite amount of time. To date, Shelter Box has helped over 37,000 people just in the Ukraine War alone.

Locally, we have worked with the Council on Aging by volunteering to shovel several residents' walkways during storms, worked with the Marblehead Food Pantry at Thanksgiving and worked on projects with our local Rotary Clubs. We have also worked closely with the other leaders in our district Interact Clubs.

We are proud of our teamwork within the club and have raised money through car washes, bagel sales and bake sales and what we have learned through our speakers over the year about local and international service and study abroad program.
