Ipswich Rotary is seeking Club/individual contributions for Global Grant 2229621 “Saving the Ipswich River & Watershed: The Lifeblood of Our Communities.”

This global grant is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Ipswich East, Ipswich England in District 1080 and hosted by the Rotary Club of Ipswich, in District 7930. With a budget of $34,000.00 all Rotary Club and individual contributions will be impactful in raising the funds needed to finance this in-district global grant.

The Ipswich River is the lifeblood of our region providing drinking water to 350,000 people and businesses daily, including 30 communities within Rotary District 7930.

The Ipswich River was declared one of the 10 most endangered rivers in the United States in 2021. “This designation (top 10 endangered rivers in the US) is yet another compelling reason why we must be proactive in responding now to protect our drinking water supplies and the health of the river and watershed that supports them,” said MA State Senator, Bruce Tarr.

Ipswich Rotary heard the call to action and consulted with the Ipswich River Watershed Association (IRWA) to design this watershed-wide global grant to save our endangered river.
