Having forty-seven guests at the 2023 Installation and Awards Dinner for Stoneham Rotary was exciting. It was a great year: back to in-person meetings with speakers, two new members and an incredibly active youth program. Oh, and it was also our club's 100th Anniversary of Service Above Self.The club members sponsored three RYLA attendees, sweatshirts for our Interact members, and financial assistance with airfare for Nicole, the Interact President, to travel to Belgium for a short-term exchange.
Five Paul Harris Awards were presented; three to Rotarians and two to Interactors. Congrats to Janice Houghton (+3) for her superb work as secretary, Craig Celli (+1) for his unfailing effort in membership and planning service projects, and finally, Adam Rodgers (+1) for his exceptional work with RYLA and Interact. The amazing truth is that every one of these Rotarians serves the community in so many other roles.
It was exciting to present Chef Kim O'Connor with a Paul Harris for her 8 years as an advisor to many Interactors dedicated to serving the community. The final Paul Harris was to recognize the leadership of President Nicole during the past year. The Interact Club sets an example not only to the Rotary Club of Stoneham but to any club or organization. They are indeed an inspirational group of young leaders.
As of July 1, Rosanna Rodriguez will begin her year as President, and she has so much planned to help our club supercharge our service to Stoneham and beyond. I can't wait to see her plan come to life! Best wishes, President Rosanna!
