In November, the nomination committee selected Terry Curran, from the Parkway Rotary Club as the District Governor Nominee Designee (DGND). An eBulletin went out to the entire District in November indicating her selection and asking for any challenges. No challenges were submitted by any club in our District by the December 31st deadline.

Therefore, we are excited to announce Terry has been elected to be the DGND for District 7930 and will serve as our District Governor 2026-27!

Congratulations Terry!

Terry joined the Parkway Rotary Club of West Roxbury, Roslindale and Jamaica Plain in 2007 and served as President of the Club multiple times from 2011-2013, 2014-2015, and 2016-2018. She proudly served on the Club’s Board of Directors for ten years and also served as Club Membership Chair, Public Image Chair, Webmaster and Foundation Chair a position she still holds.

For District 7930, Terry joined the District Club Visioning Committee at its inception in 2014 and still serves on it. In 2015, she was appointed District Alumni Chair and in 2016 served as an Assistant Governor.  She has served on the District Foundation Polio Committee, Membership and DEI committees.

After traveling to Cebu City, Philippines on a Rotaplast Mission in 2017, District 7930 Governor Bob Wood (2018-19) asked Terry to be the District Rotaplast Chair for the following year. In that position, Terry spearheaded the fundraising for the successful 2018 Cebu City mission, which she also led. For Rotary Year 2018-19, Terry was asked to serve as Governors Aide/Chief of Staff to DG Bob Wood which gave her a thorough understanding of the operation of the District. During the spring of 2019 she assisted in raising donations for the Rotary Foundation, which would come back in her governor year.  She also joined the Youth Exchange committee and attended Interact Cafes to get a better understanding of the district’s youth services.

In 2019-2020 Terry served as the Membership Chair and was a co-chair for the Foundation Fundraiser. She also joined the District Public Image and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committees.  During 2020-2021 we were in the pandemic and on zoom.  This allowed the opportunity to attend all committee meetings of the District. During this time she also was on the Board of NEPETS and planned the first virtual PETS program, serving on the Technology Committee, Pre-PETS Committee, By-Laws Committee and formation of the Financial Oversight Committee.

In 2021-2022 Terry served as District Governor coming out of the pandemic.  She used a combination of in-person and on-line meetings to be inclusive of all those in the District. She re-established sending the Governor’s Monthly Newsletter and a Membership Forum during August Membership Month. She ended her year being able to transfer $10,000 to the Permanent Fund.

In 2022-2023 Governor Alexander asked Terry to form an Environmental Committee which she did and chaired.  The committee was able to complete the directives of promoting No Mow May and developing a grant template for a Pollinator Garden.  She also served as an Assistant Governor for 4 clubs.  Besides staying on the DEI, Membership and Public Image committees she chaired the District Conference and volunteered on the Foundation Event Committee.

In 2023-2024 Terry serves as the Alternate Chair of NorthEast Pets and serves DGE Tom Hankard as his Vice Governor. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.

Terry has a B.S. in Management from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She lives in Roslindale and is the proud parent of two adult children, Cassandra and Daniel.

According to District 7930 bylaws, if there is no dissension by December 31, 2023, Terry will be considered elected by acclimation, and will start her role as DGND (District Governor Nominee Designate) on January 1, 2024.
