The following is information from District Governor Todd Smith of District 5870 where the flooding tragedy occurred.  To help the victims, see the message following:

In the wake of historic rainfall and devastating floods across Central Texas, families are grieving, communities are shaken, and countless lives have been upended. The road to recovery won’t be easy—but with your help, it will be possible.

Along with reading or listening to the horrific news reports, I’ve personally been canvassing clubs in our District to see what impact we have suffered locally and to make sure our members and their loved ones are safe and secure.  Thankfully, so far, I’ve not learned of any members majorly impacted.  However, other districts have not been so fortunate.

Consequently, I am asking you to ENGAGE in supporting relief efforts currently underway.  Together, when we Engage With Passion, we offer not just relief—but hope. And as the District Anthem goes…”there’s so much we can do!”

How You Can Help Us Turn Compassion into Action:
  • Donate: Every dollar is a lifeline. Your gift brings food, shelter, and dignity to those rebuilding their world.
    • Donate to the Tax Deductible District 5870 Keyway Fund for Texas flood victims today! The shortcut URL is 5870Keyway.org or use the QR code below.
    • For those who prefer to send contributions via check, make payable to:  District 5870 Keyway, Inc.  c/o Bruce Golden, Treasurer, 6603 Vallecito Dr, Austin, TX 78759
    • Funds placed here will be used for victim needs within our own District, as well as in other impacted areas.
  • Share: Your voice matters. Spread this message on social media, through email, or in conversation. Be loud!  One share could spark a dozen acts of kindness.
  • Serve: Your time and skills will be needed soon. At the present time in our district, assistance is needed in the Burnet area and is being coordinated by the Ark of the Highland Lakes. Donations and manpower assistance info can be found at https://arkofhighlandlakes.org/flood-response-070525/ However for now, please stay tuned—we’re working closely with local authorities to ensure a safe, coordinated response.
While we understand there are many local and regional organizations collecting donations and organizing support efforts, Rotarian districts and clubs are coalescing behind a comprehensive approach for when our collective efforts are truly needed to have maximum impact.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in hope. When we come together with purpose, when we Unite For Good, there’s no limit to the good we can do.
