Fellow Rotarians…  The first (that I know of) plunging has taken place at St. Camillus parking lot in Arlington, where the Arlington Club members have been plunged into a dunk tank.  Don’t think that the dunk tank had any heated water in it.  No, on the contrary, these brave Rotarians and friends plunged down into the icy water with President Becca losing her glasses on her tumble.  Thankfully one our senior members had their “grabber” handy and was able to fish them out of the tank.  If your club is also doing a separate “Plunge,” let  me know and I’d be happy to join you, if I’m available.

As in year’s past, it would be wonderful if you would bring your club banners to hang over the railings on the back of the motor inn.  We have revised the registration sheet so that you can add all who are coming to cheer you on.  So, if you are the only member of your club plunging, but you are bringing 5 members/friends/family with you, please go back into the following link and re-register your club.  Clubs can register their participation by clicking here.

Donations to this year’s Polar Plunge are being directly made through the donate button in MyRotary or through your club’s Foundation Chair.  Once a club has donated a minimum of $1,500.00, it qualifies them to receive the End Polio Now Certificate from Rotary International.  Last year only four clubs in our district reached that benchmark.  I’m pleased to say that the top five clubs below have already surpassed that level.  Let’s try to get our District back to more participation throughout the clubs.

The list below includes your donations made to PolioPlus from July 1, 2021, as of February 19, 2022.  But this is just a list of the TOP TEN.  Year to date we have raised $29,250.01 of our $100,000 goal.  There are still 20 clubs in the district who have not started making their donations to Polio through MyRotary.  We cannot count donations and add your club to the list, if your club doesn’t record them through RI.
