"It's important that the garden be away from a major path to avoid frightening the pollinators away from the garden," Maguire said. "At the same time, we want to the community to know Rotary had a role in the gardens establishment, so we have to be strategic in its location."
After considering spots based on flood zones, foot traffic and visibility, the club has narrowed the location down to a spot near Veteran's Field and one of the Lake Quannapowitt's popular walking path.

Several weeks ago, Maguire, Past President Amy Luckiewicz and new member Joie Gerrish sowed over 25 varieties of seeds at Maguire's home. As the seeds are still growing, the club will take the time to select the best location.
Many thanks to the Friends of Lake Quannapowitt volunteers and Dennis Fazio of the Wakefield Department of Public Works for their assistance with this project.
