Nominations Open for District Governor '28-29

Nominations for District Governor for 2028-29 are being accepted starting September 1, 2025.  Deadline to submit nominations: Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
 
This important individual leads and supports the clubs in the district by inspiring and motivating them to Do Good in the World!  All clubs are encouraged to propose suitable candidates who meet the qualifications to serve.  One of these requirements is that at the time of taking office, must have been a past president of a club, completed seven years of membership in one or more clubs, and to have attended governors-elect training seminar and International Assembly.  If you feel that your club has such a leader among your members, please consider nominating them to help fulfill Rotary's ongoing missions.
 
The nomination form can be downloaded here.  In addition to the nomination form, please include a Rotary-focused resume of the candidate, as well as the candidate's vision statement of what they would like to accomplish for our district in their year as district governor. Completed nomination forms and the additional documents should be sent to DG Pooja Singla.

    Membership and PI Mini Grants Open

    District Membership and Public Image Mini Grants are opening.
     
    Please make sure that you approve these details:
    1. Open to all grant qualified clubs.
    2. Must be submitted by club member who is grant trained.
    3. Applications are due by December 1, 2025.
    4. Submitted grants will be approved by December 21, 2025
    5. All final bills, payments, photos, etc. due by March  31, 2026
    6. Maximum reimbursement to a single club is $250 (against $500 in expenses)
    7. If 2 clubs combine, maximum reimbursement is $375 (against $750 in expenses)
    8. Only 1 grant per club.
    9. Maximum budget is $3000 for all mini grants. If we receive more than $3000 in requests, we can have a waiting list.
    10. Only 1 mini grant per club.

    District Grant Applications Closed

    We are delighted to have received an overwhelming number of requests for District Managed Grants. Some funds for the Global Grants are still available.
     
    We are excited to see this enthusiasm for community services in our District.
     
    Thank you all for submitting the Grants Applications for your important community projects funded by the District Managed Grants. We appreciate the time and effort you invested in your proposals.
     
    The District 7930 Grants Committee has been met with an overwhelming number of responses this grant cycle. This high level of interest speaks to the impressive work being done by the clubs for the communities served in our District 7930.

    Introducing the District 7930 E-Club

    Did you know that we have a new club in our District? We’d like to introduce you to the District 7930 E-Club. The club became an official Satellite Club in August 2025. We are sponsored by Belle Isle who has generously taken us in and given us a space to get started until we move to our own chartered club. We appreciate their help and support very much!
     
    The mission of the E-Club is to provide service to clubs within our District that need some extra help. In addition, we will be providing quarterly micro-donations ($250 and under) to D7930 club projects and fundraisers.
     
    The E-Club’s founding members, led by AG Coordinator, Lori Becker, is made up of active Rotarians who have seen the need for help with service projects throughout the District.

    Wilmington's Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS Research

    The Wilmington Rotary Club held their annual Community Ice Bucket Challenge at Wilmington's Rotary Park on Saturday, August 24. Many brave participants, including 8 Rotarians, had the pleasure of dumping ice water over their heads to raise funds for the Angel Fund of Wakefield. The Angel Fund is an organization committed to finding a cure for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Through the work of Dr. Robert Brown at the UMass Medical Center, progress has been made but the cure hasn’t yet been achieved, and additional funds are still needed.

    We continue to raise funds for this worthy cause - donations may be mailed to the Wilmington Rotary Club, P.O. Box 503, Wilmington, MA 01887 or sent via Venmo @Wilmington-RotaryClub.

    Rotary Updates a Milestone to Learning in Ipswich

    Following Ipswich Rowley Rotary's regular meeting last Thursday, several Rotarians joined Ipswich Library Director Nora Blake in front of the town Library. The occasion was the dedication of a new granite post and refurbished signage donated to the town by Ipswich-Rowley Rotary.
     
    Seen in the photo are Jim Tedford, co-President George Gray who also is Chair of the Library Board of Trustees, Library Director Nora Blake, Project Chair Lee McNelly, Andrea Lacroix, and Martha Mauser. Kneeling are co-President Doug Shealy and dog Iorek.
     
    This beautiful entryway post is an appropriate reminder that public Libraries are and always will be pillars of learning and democracy.

    Has your club recently hosted an event or project or are you planning something in the near future that you would like to share with your fellow District 7930 Rotarians?
     
    The weekly eBulletin depends on the content provided by clubs, so please submit your stories and we will publish them on the district website and in the next eBulletin. Stories that showcase your club or event should be submitted via the website portal at this link.  Your club's successes and events can give inspiration to other Rotarians.
     
    The deadline for submitting items for the weekly District 7930 eBulletin is Friday morning in order to be included in the following Monday's edition.  If the eBulletin being prepared is getting to be too long and the story submitted is not time-sensitive, we may choose to delay including it until the following week.
