Congratulations Lori Karas DGND (DG 2023-24)
In November, the nomination committee selected Lori Karas, from the Rotary Club of Peabody (formerly President and member of Boston #7) as the District Governor Nominee Designee (DGND).  An email went out to the entire District in November indicating her selection and asking for any challenges.  No challenges were submitted by any club in our District.
 
Therefore, we are excited to announce that Lori Karas has been elected to be the DGND for District 7930!!!
 
We are excited to have you join the team!!!!  Congratulations Lori!

Pre-PETS Training Starts January 9
The Presidents-Elect of our clubs start their journey this week to train for their leadership positions. 
 
Starting this weekend January 9 and 10 they have the opportunity to participate in the PrePETS program designed by NEPETS.  There are 4 sessions and each one is repeated twice on the weekend, starting with Saturday January 9 at 4pm and repeated Sunday January 10 at 11am.

New Member Welcome & DMC Presentation on Rotary Membership Benefits
Join the District Membership Committee for a virtual cocktail hour to welcome new members, who have joined our district within the last 2-3 years, and to enjoy a presentation about all the amazing membership benefits that are all included in your Rotary membership. This conversation will include benefits on the district level, zone level, education benefits, Rotary Foundation benefits, and benefits on the RI (Rotary International) level. This meeting is open to everyone in the district to attend - new members as well as seasoned Rotarians!!

Reading's Adopt-a-Family Project
Each year Reading Rotary partners with the community for the Adopt-a-Family project for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Rotary works with the local organization ReadingCares and the Town to coordinate this long-standing community giving program.  Receiving families are matched anonymously with donor families and/or groups to provide meals for Thanksgiving and meals and gifts at Christmas.  Donor drop off in the first shift, then recipient families pick up their food and gifts during a later shift. 
 
There were approximately 60 families in need and donor families/groups were matched to provide Christmas gifts and holiday meals to these families anonymously.  Reading Rotary’s efforts were coordinated by Gregg Johnson and John Douglass.
