We have planned an incredible afternoon and evening and this will be an event that will fulfill our theme: Rotary: Making a Difference.

 

The day will start at 3:00 pm with the Showcase featuring over 25 organizations dedicated to eliminating the negative impact that addiction has in our communities. Come learn about available resources, meet people who share our vision for a better world, and connect with them in a volunteer opportunity based on your professional skills. Rotarians have such a broad array of talents that would assist each of these organizations in fulfilling their service to those who suffer from addiction.

 

Between the Showcase and the World Peace and Understanding Dinner is a networking session where we can all unite in dialog about how to educate, advocate and collaborate. From there we will move to dinner with a short presentation from the Chief Medical Officer of Lahey Health, Dr. Barry Ginsberg and then on to the keynote from Middlesex District Attorney, Marian Ryan. Not only will she share her views on addiction, from prevention to recovery, but also what Rotary can do to Make a Difference.

 

Lahey's commitment is funding the Showcase and will provide ten $250 matching grants for 10 of our Rotary Clubs. Think Narcan training, community forums, anti-bullying campaigns and so much more.

 

I hope you will do two things:

Please plan to arrive by 3 pm on Wednesday, February 28th to visit the Showcase and to meet all the great people who are fighting this epidemic in our communities. Think about how you can support one or more of these organizations with your professional skills and offer your volunteer support to them..
