Environmental Justice for Us All
Environmental Justice is the fair treatment of all people with respect to environmental politics and their implementation.  A hallmark of environmental injustice is the persistence of geographic inequalities in the distribution of environmental burdens or amenities.

Who is our Guest Speaker?

Dr. Marcos Luna, Salem State University, Professor of Geography and Sustainability, describes the geography of environmental justice in our own backyard.

This presentation will illustrate how Environmental Justice is an important part of the struggle to improve and maintain a clean and healthful environment, especially for those who have traditionally lived, worked and played closest to the sources of pollution.

Marblehead's 100th Eagle Scout
Marblehead Harbor Rotary Club is proud to announce Marblehead's 100th Eagle Scout, Liam Conley. Rotary's own Don Doliber was the Chair of the Eagle Board for this momentous occasion.

Liam is a Marblehead High junior and is a mature, outstanding young man who is reliable, patient, responsible, and has an excellent sense of self. He is beginning to think about life after high school which might include enlisting in the Marine Corps.

Liam's project was to restore the public benches at Fort Sewall. Once all stakeholders were on board, the service team that he recruited needed to disassemble, sand, replace damaged boards, reassemble, and place them back into the proper location. Each of these benches provides phenomenal views of Marblehead Harbor for residents and visitors to enjoy. This project consumed a total of 230 hours of planning and implementation.

DEI Governor's Citation Reminder
District 7930 Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee has created a District Governor’s Citation for all Clubs and Members. Clubs, can earn the District 7930 Diversity Equity and Inclusion citation for achieving goals that actively work toward making your club more diverse, equitable and inclusive. The DEI citation suggests 25 initiatives that clubs can do to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.

In order to achieve the Governor’s Citation a club must complete and document 13 of the 25 initiatives. For instance a Club can readjust their dues structure to make membership more affordable or re-define what it means to be a “professional”. These and other initiatives will help make your Club grow, more diverse, equitable and inclusive.
