Marblehead Bids Farewell to RYE Student
The Marblehead Rotary Club bid farewell to their International Rotary Youth Exchange student, Marisol Wann from Thailand, at a recent club lunch meeting.  Marisol gave a heartfelt and emotional talk about her time in United States and Marblehead.  She shared movies with us on Thailand, her native home. And, then she shared movie clips and pictures of her experiences and talked beautifully about all her friends and her host families.  Marisol's video about her exchange year is available on YouTube.  She made a point to discuss how much she felt she had had matured over the year. Her friends in the States encouraged to try things to discover her true interest and learned about her devotion to art.

We wish Marisol the very best and hope she maintains here connections to us and our community as she ventures out into her future.
What's Up with Membership Leads?
A new Rotary year has started and the membership team is in full swing! The Membership Team wanted to provide you with some important information about Rotary Membership Inquiries early on in the year. Any email from Jim Major or Amy Luckiewicz talking about a lead is the one to keep and follow up on.

Let us explain...

The District Membership Team has a plan to mange these leads in a shared system that ensures the best fit for the prospective member and also cuts some of the work for the club. Our plan includes the following:

Marblehead Scholarship Recipients
The Marblehead Rotary Club is proud to introduce its seven 2018 scholarship recipients:

Derek Marino is heading to Bates College in the fall. A class leader and award-winning student/athlete, Derek carries himself with humility and maturity even after having “lettered” in Football, Basketball and Baseball as well as being named the Captain of many of these teams. He was awarded the “Educational Athletics Achievement Award” a recognition from Massachusetts for community service and leadership.

Erika Massaro will be attending either Northeastern University or Tulane University in the Fall. She plans to study Public Health and Biology with the hope of pursuing a pre-medicine academic track. Massaro is proud of her outside involvements including being a volunteer at Beverly Hospital and tutoring students in Lynn and Salem through the North Shore Men(Tu)tors program – Massaro being a Co-President of that group.
