Please join with our Fellow Rotarians from across District 7930 as we kick off the new Rotary year. We will be installing all 49 Rotary Club Presidents along with the President of the Rotaract Club of Boston. Gather your club members to come and support your incoming President and register a table or two as we introduce the 2017-2018 Rotary Theme - Rotary: Making a Difference. What a perfect theme as it is really what we are all about. The work that members, under the leadership of their President, do year in and year out in service to others. Celebrate what we have done and become inspired about what we can do.

 

The program will be fun and a little different than previous years. We have opted to not have a keynote speaker, but rather focus on building teams. Think about how we are all more successful working together, and when everyone on the team is successful, great things happen to Rotary and the communities we serve. Imagine how building committed and focused teams will drive our projects, events and fundraisers, all to enhance the service we bring to our communities.

This past weekend (June 2-4, 2017), 52 sophomores and juniors from high schools throughout District 7930 joined with 8 high school facilitators and several young adult leaders and Rotarians at Camp Rotary in Boxford, MA, for RYLA 2017-- an extraordinary weekend of fun, fellowship and leadership.

On behalf of the Friends of Endicott Park, Bill and Lois McKenzie accepted a check for $3,500 from the Danvers Rotary Club.  The funds were donated for interactive exhibits which will be part of the new nature center under construction at Endicott Park.  Pictured (from right to left) are Mary Beth O'Connell, Danvers Rotary President, Bill McKenzie, Lois McKenzie, and Becky Kilborn, Chair of the Danvers Rotary Trust.   

The Peabody Rotary Club will once again join forces with the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce for their annual Torigian Golf Classic on Monday, June 12th. It will be best ball format with a 7:30AM shotgun start at the Ferncroft Country Club in Danvers. Registration, breakfast and driving range begin at 6:30. All proceeds will be dedicated to scholarships for graduating high school seniors. Hole-in-one prize is a Boston Whaler. Think that you know the capital of Nebraska?  Well on Friday, June 23rd you and three friends can show off your Knowledge of things Trivial.  The Wilmington Rotary Club is hosting the 8th Annual Trivia Night on Friday, June 23rd at the Shriners Fez Room, 99 Fordham Road, Wilmington.  Doors will open at 6:00 PM.  Comedian Steve Bjork will ask the first question will at 7:00 PM.

What is Tom Brady’s middle name? Other trivia experts think that they know! Do you?  The cost for your team of four is $100. The winners will receive a handsome trophy along with priceless bragging rights for the year.  The defending Champions are from the Wilmington Police Department, who have stated that despite being armed, they will surrender the trophy but only if you can better them at Trivia.  There will be a cash bar.
