This important individual leads and supports the clubs in D7930 by inspiring and motivating them to Do Good in the World! All clubs are encouraged to propose suitable candidates who meet the qualifications to serve. One of these requirements is that at the time of taking office, must have been a past president of a club, completed seven years of membership in one or more clubs, and to have attended governors-elect training seminar and International Assembly. If you feel that your club has such a leader among your members please consider nominating them to help fulfill Rotary's ongoing missions. More information and application. Peabody Trivia Fundraiser

Trivia for a Cause

The Peabody Rotary Club and Granite Coast Brewing Company will host an online general knowledge trivia game on Thursday, September 24, to benefit the club’s local scholarship fund.

Teams of up to six players will use their preferred digital device to compete in several rounds of trivia from the comfort of their own home. Hosted by Crew Ryan of Captain Crew’s Question Cruise, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their answers with their teammates, even if they are not playing from the same physical location. Prizes and raffles will also be awarded.

Newburyport Helps with Turkey Dinner Project
The Newburyport Club has a great service project coming up Saturday, September 26, 2020.  The club will be helping Operation Warming Hearts and the Salvation Army preparing, assembling and delivering 300 meals to the greater Newburyport area as well as notes and cards with positive messages, words of encouragement or even a homemade greeting card. Volunteers are needed to pick up food, prep and package food and deliver meals. Could you or your family write notes or cards? What a fun family project it could be! Our September and October virtual tasting program will be led by Rotarian Gene Pellerano from Ellsworth/D7790. Gene has worked in a wine shop for 20 years and will be organizing the meetings/speaker/wine varietals. More info to follow. D7930 Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee
The District 7930 Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee will host a workshop and discussion on Diversity Equity and Inclusion featuring Dr. "Bowtie" Todd Jenkins, Founder and CEO of Bowtie Leadership and Development, Inc., a global leadership management training and coaching firm with a focus on bringing diverse people together to increase individual or organizational productivity and performance.
 
Although a date has not been set the DE&I Committee is anticipating late October or early November. This will be a virtual event via Zoom and all Rotarians are invited to attend. When you register for the event you may also submit any questions for Dr. Jenkins and the DE&I Committee.

Burlington Breakfast Club Installs International Satellite Members
The Burlington Breakfast Rotary, a “small but mighty” Club, once again is shining brighter. BBRC is expanding and thriving. Its ‘People of Action’ honor Rotary’s motto of ‘Service Above Self.’ As Rotarians, in our quest to make a difference in society, Rotary indeed opened opportunities by installing its “first” International Satellite member in India. This showcase project may present a template/model for other clubs as well in Rotary District 7930 and beyond.

D7930 Clubs Receive Disaster Relief Grant Funds
22 clubs responded to participate in the 25K Disaster Grant awarded to D7930 from RI. Each club will be reimbursed $426 for the purchase of PPE for Police/Fire Departments and First Responders. Congratulations to the following Rotary Clubs:Amesbury, Belle Isle, Burlington Breakfast, Burlington, Cambridge, Chelsea, Gloucester, Gr. Salem, Hamilton-Wenham, Haverhill, Ipswich, Lynn, Manchester-Essex, Marblehead, Marblehead Harbor, Methuen, Peabody, Reading, Boston Rotaract, Salem, TBM and Winchester.

Gloucester Announces Photography Contest
Deadline to submit photos extended to Sunday, September 27.
 
The Gloucester Rotary Club will publish a 12-month Cape Ann photo calendar for 2021 as a fundraiser.  All profits will go to the Gloucester Rotary Club’s many community and international activities. In Order to publish a beautiful calendar, the Club is requesting high quality digital photos that reflect the amazing communities of Cape Ann throughout the year—photos that reflect what the photographer feels “community” means to him/her, whether it is a person, place or event.  As we will be featuring one photo per month, we need images from each season:  winter, spring, summer and fall.  Photographs from Gloucester, Rockport, Essex and Manchester will be accepted. There will be a pilot Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) virtual event this Saturday, September, 26, 2020, 9am-2pm, with breaks throughout.

The weekly eBulletin depends on the content provided by clubs, so please submit your stories and we will publish them on the district website and in the next eBulletin. Stories that showcase your club or event should be submitted via the website portal at this link.
 
The deadline for submitting items for the weekly District 7930 eBulletin is Friday morning in order to be included in the following Monday's edition.  If the eBulletin being prepared is getting to be too long and the story submitted is not time-sensitive, we may choose to delay including it until the following week.
