Weekly Polar Plunge Report
The top ten clubs in giving this week are:

1. Marblehead
2. Arlington
3. Wakefield
4. Rockport
5. Gloucester
6. Reading
7. Lynn
8. Chelsea
9. Lynnfield
10. Parkway, Swampscott and Amesbury are tied

Donations to this year’s Polar Plunge are being directly made through the donate button in MyRotary or through your club’s Foundation Chair.  Once a club has donated a minimum of $1500 it qualifies them to receive the End Polio Now Certificate from Rotary International.  Last year only four clubs in our district reached that benchmark.  I’m pleased to say that the top six clubs above have already surpassed that level.  Let’s try to get our District back to more participation throughout the clubs.

Year to date we have raised $33,550.01 of our $100,000 goal.  That’s one third of the way there. There are still 18 clubs in the district who have not started making their donations to Polio through MyRotary.  We cannot count donations and add your club to the list, if your club doesn’t record them through RI.

Gloucester Night at the Races
The Gloucester Rotary invites the public to attend their FUNdraising event – “A Night at the Races” on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Cruiseport Gloucester, located at 6 Rowe’s Wharf in Gloucester. Doors open at 6:30 pm.  All proceeds from this event will support local and international programs of the Gloucester Rotary.

A Night at the Races is a fun-filled evening for adults with all the suspense and excitement of being at the racetrack.  High quality, video-taped horse races are narrated from start to finish by lively announcers.  During the evening there will be complimentary hors d’oeuvre, a cash bar, and variety of raffles.  At various points during the evening, betters will be able to use their winnings to bid on merchandise and services that have been donated for the event. For the most fun, reserve a table – bring a group.

Tickets are $10 per person and may be purchased in advance online at https://gloucesterrotary.org/page/night-at-the-races or at the door.
