Installation of District Officers and Club Presidents for 2018-2019
Cocktails & Cookout
Thursday, June 14, 2018, Danversport

The District Installation dinner will be a little less formal this year. Everyone is invited to celebrate our club and district leadership for the coming year!  Dinner will be served family style, and will be a cookout of beef tips, chicken and all the trimmings. Ceremonies and speeches will be  brief and to the point. Dress code is resort casual – khakis and polos for the guys – comfortable dress for the ladies. No ties! If you have a favorite Rotary shirt you’d like to wear, that might also be appropriate!

Is Rotary Ready to Tackle Addiction Prevention Education?

In partnership with the Massachusetts Prevention Alliance, the Rotary Club of Newton hosted the premiere launch of the new Rotary Addiction Prevention Seminar: Engage theCommunity. This three-hour multi-district event supported by District 7910 Governor, Karin Gaffney and District 7930 Governor Dave Gardner, brought together 75 stakeholders representing public health, public safety, recovery and grief supporters, family members, clergy, medicine, treatment and private business to learn about a new Rotary Toolkit. The toolkit is designed to engage communities in a discovery and learning experience about the driving forces of addiction that includes brain science and big business profit-driven strategies. The event’s featured guest was Dr. Bertha Madras, of Harvard Medical School, an appointed member of the White House Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis.
