*Share ideas on enhancing the effectiveness of club programs

Sessions are in a non-lecture, energetic, interactive format led by experienced facilitators. Parts I, II, III and Graduate will be offered. Parts must be taken in order, each taking an entire 7:30-3:30 day. Chelsea's Kentucky Derby Fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Chelsea will be holding its annual Kentucky Derby Fundraiser May 6, 2025. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to fund five scholarships for Chelsea students and to send twenty Chelsea children to Camp Rotary for one week. Tickets for the chance to own a horse in any of the three races are $100 each. Dinner tickets are $60.

Andover to Recognize Exceptional Community Contributors

The Rotary Club of Andover will celebrate its annual Citizens Who Care & Educator of the Year (CWC-EOY) Gala on Thursday, May 8th, 2025, at the Andover Country Club. This prestigious event, which begins at 5:30 pm, honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional volunteerism and have made significant contributions to the local community.

Since 1996, the CWC-EOY program has recognized unsung heroes whose dedication to service embodies the spirit of volunteerism. The 2025 honorees include: Ellen Arvidson, Ajita Bhat, Donald Cooper, Mary Beth Ellis & Eric Olson – The Sidney Mae Olson Rainbow Fund, Amy Janovsky, Martha Mahoney, Susan K. McCready, Shawna M. McCloskey & Kristine A. Arakelian, Mark Morgan, and Buzz Stapczynski. The 2025 Educator of the Year is Julie Diehl, and Student of the Year is Sofia Duran-Clark.

Manchester-Essex Serves Local Food Pantry

As part of their weekly meeting the Manchester-Essex Club gathered on an early Spring morning with distinguished guest incoming District Governor Pooja Singla at the Historic Essex Shipbuilding Museum Schoolhouse to paint bowls in support of the Open Door Food Pantry's major fundraiser, the Empty Bowl.

In 2024 the Open Door served 12,000, providing over 2M pounds of food and 165,000 meals to those on Greater Cape Ann and surrounding communities with food insecurity. The fundraiser is on May 2, 4 - 8 pm at Cruiseport in Gloucester. Guests can choose and keep a soup bowl handcrafted for this community event, and the meal is simple—soup, bread, and a cookie. Tickets are 20 ($15 for children under 10) and available at the door.

Peabody Launches My First Book Club

The Rotary Club of Peabody received a District Grant from D7930 and partnered with Peabody Club funds and a Peabody Education Foundation grant to create a project called My First Book Club. The goal of the program was to provide every student in Grades K-2 with a book that they could own.

Club members believe that reading is a basic building block essential to learning and understanding, and the earlier we engage children in the process, the more well-rounded their overall educational experience will be. Upon acceptance and approval of the grant funding, the Rotary Club of Peabody, met and partnered with the Peabody Public Schools through Superintendent Dr. Josh Vadala to launch the program. The 6 elementary schools in the Peabody Public school district were polled to select the appropriate Dr. Seuss book for each classroom.
