Please welcome the District 7930 E-Club, which was officially chartered as part of our District by Rotary International on April 24, 2026.

The District 7930 E-Club takes the title of the most recently chartered club in our district from the Burlington Breakfast Club, which was chartered on October 18, 2005.

The District E-club began as an eight-member satellite club, hosted by the Belle Isle Rotary, and grew quickly to fifteen members in order to charter and become a separate club. Special thanks are due to PDG Tom Hankard for his encouragement and guidance through the satellite process, and to the Belle Isle Rotary for their support.

The focus of the District E-Club is to help Rotary Clubs and other organizations within the District with their events and projects. The Club has already helped with the Reading Street Faire, the Taste of the North Shore (organized by the Rotary Club of Peabody), and the Spring Cleanup of the Arlington Town Gardens (organized by the Friends of the Robbins Town Gardens). Members of the Club also participated in the Build a Bed event organized by the Lynnfield Rotary, and the 2026 District 7930 RYLA.
 

The number of households that are food insecure has doubled since the pandemic according to a report released in April 2026 by Mass General Brigham and the Greater Boston Food Bank. That is 40% of all Massachusetts households (over 1 million!) with 25% regularly missing meals or going hungry.

The Rotary Club of Peabody has supported local food programs for decades: they provide and serve one meal each month at the local food pantry, Haven from Hunger. They provide weekend meals once a month to a local church that distributes to people who do not have access to food on the weekend, and the club supports the No Child Goes Hungry in Peabody, a program that delivers free groceries to food insecure families with children in the school district. Therefore, it made sense for the Club to support another meals program, Meals of Hope.

 

Danvers is hosting a fun Bocce fundraiser at Endicott Park Thursday, July 23 from 3pm to dusk.

Come as a team of 2 and compete for prestige and prizes. All funds will go to purchase LifeVac devices for the Danvers Police department and other health and community organizations. Food and beverages available on site. Only $30 pp, you can enter multiple teams from your club at $60 per team.

The Gloucester Rotary has named Dr. Michael Sarraf and Serena Lowe as Paul Harris Fellows, the prestigious award named after the Chicago lawyer who founded the Rotary movement in 1905. Sarraf was selected by a Club committee of previous recipients of the award, while Lowe was chosen by members of the Gloucester High School Interact Club, the very active group of Junior Rotarians. Sarraf and Lowe will be honored at the Paul Harris Distinguished Service Award Dinner on June 10, 2026, at Cruiseport Gloucester, located at 6 Rowe Square in downtown Gloucester. The event will begin with a social hour at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner at 6:30 pm.

Michael Sarraf graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2000. After a general practice residency in St. Joseph Hospital, Sarraf acquired Mina Dental Associates in Gloucester in 2004. He joined the Gloucester Rotary in 2005 and served on the Board of Directors and as the President 2022-2023. Dr. Mike, as he’s known in the Club, has received several state and regional awards in recognition of his business prowess and service to the Rotary cause. Mike and his wife live in Middleton with their two children.
