PeaceJam will be our speakers for District 7930 World Peace and Understanding Dinner. This will be an interactive evening led by youth and PeaceJam. We ask that you invite your Interact Clubs, Rotaractors, RYLA students, Youth Exchange Students and any other youth interested to this event.

The PeaceJam Foundation is an international organization whose mission statement is "to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates who pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody." The 'One Billion Acts of Peace' Campaign has been nominated 8 times for the Nobel Peace Prize. 14 Nobel Laureates have joined the campaign with the mission that: Everyone matters. Everyone can make a difference.

Together, we are unstoppable.

Update: D7930 Polar Plunge

The Polar Plunge Team wanted to share with you some important updates about our upcoming 2020 Polar Plunge...

It's not too late to register! Our 2020 Polar Plunge to End Polio is on Saturday, February 29, 2020 (snow day March 14th) and we can't wait to celebrate our 10th Anniversary with a BIG goal. Parking at the event will be strictly enforced. Please plan on parking at Good Harbor Beach on Thatcher Road and take the free 2-minute shuttle to Long Beach.
Room reservations at the Cape Ann Motor Inn are now OPEN! Please make your reservation directly through them by calling (978)281-2900. They sell out fast! Call ASAP if your team needs a changing room.
This year, to save on costs, we have a new participant shirt policy. If you register by February 1, 2020 AND have raised (as recorded on Mobile Cause) a minimum of $25.00, you get a free shirt. Off-line donations recorded on Mobile Cause count! If not...shirts will be $5 at the door while supplies last. You'll get your ticket for your shirt at check-in. If you are virtually plunging and not planning on attending the plunge, please contact me ASAP to reserve your shirt.
ALL participants MUST have a waiver signed and participants must be in high school or older. If students are carpooling, please ensure they bring their waivers SIGNED by their legal guardian. Rotarian advisers may not sign waivers for students. Visit our site to download a waiver today.

Peabody Mourns Cara Murtaugh

The Peabody Rotary Club is reeling from the unexpected loss of Cara Murtagh, who died unexpectedly on Thanksgiving. Peabody TV has released a video highlighting the life of Peabody Superintendent of Schools Cara Murtagh. The nine-minute video features clips from her funeral service as well as clips from Peabody TV's archive of Murtagh speaking at various school functions and meetings. View the video here.

Gloucester Supports North Shore Track Meet

The Gloucester Rotary Club supported the Northeastern Conference Freshman-Sophomore Meet at Beverly High’s Henry Cabot Lodge Fieldhouse on Saturday, December 21, 2019. Students from several north shore high schools participated in this annual event.

Marblehead and Swampscott Rotary Scholarship Luncheon

Congratulations to Megan Battinelli, Swampscott Cheer Team & Céire Rocco, Marblehead Cheer Team recipients of scholarships by the Marblehead and Swampscott Rotary Clubs. The recognition of these student athletes took place at the Rotary's annual luncheon held at the Tedesco Country Club.

Honoring both student leadership and sportsmanship is the meaning of the annual luncheon. Supporting this aim, each year, Marblehead Rotary awards its scholarship to a Swampscott athlete, and Swampscott Rotary does the same for a Marblehead athlete.

On hand to speak and to participate in the event were District Governor, Joan Arsenault and and District Governor-Elect, Betsy Manzelli.

Greater Salem Dedicates International Tree to World Peace

The Greater Salem NH Rotary participated in the Festival of Trees in Pelham, NH. This year our “International Tree” was dedicated to World Peace. The ornaments on this tree signify a handful of the many countries Rotary reaches out to every day and is a hopeful reminder of Rotary and your connection throughout the world.

Has your club recently hosted an event or project or are you planning something in the near future that you would like to share with your fellow District 7930 Rotarians?

The weekly eBulletin depends on the content provided by clubs, so please submit your stories and we will publish them on the district website and in the next eBulletin. Stories that showcase your club or event should be submitted via the website portal at this link.

The deadline for submitting items for the weekly District 7930 eBulletin is Friday morning in order to be included in the following Monday's edition. If the eBulletin being prepared is getting to be too long and the story submitted is not time-sensitive, we may choose to delay including it until the following week.
