 Our Rotary Clubs are jumping at the chance to plunge with in our biggest winter beach party ever! This year is sure to be the biggest yet! Register your plungers and virtual plungers early by following these easy steps:
- Register here or text the word “joinplunge” to 51555 to register on your mobile device and click on the link you receive back. Note: do not put a space in "joinplunge."
- Click on “Become a Fundraiser.”
- Compete ALL fields and click on “Become a Fundraiser.”
- Click on “Join a Team” and select your Rotary team from the drop down menu. Non-Rotarians may select any team. There is a team for Rotaract.
- Click on “I Am Done.”
- 6. You will get an email and text confirmation (if you gave a mobile number). Follow the link to complete your registration and set your password.
- Upload your picture, set your goal, and customized message to supporters. Click “Save.”
- Click “Share” to view your unique text-to-donate word and social media options!

 Do you want to meet other Rotarians from around the district in a brand new fellowship - Rotary Means Business (RMB)?
Well the kickoff event is scheduled for Monday, November 30th at 6:00 pm. It will be held at 300 Trade Center, Suite 700 in Woburn within the Conference Center at McLane Middleton.
We will limit the number of guests to 80 so please register early. Although this group will most likely be made up primarily of Rotarians, we hope that those who attend will consider inviting other business people of similar ethics. It is our basic mission to help each other grow our businesses with the potential to introduce others to Rotary and the additional benefits of community service and fellowship, thereby positively affecting membership in our clubs.

 On November 10th, the Gloucester Rotary Club under the direction of President Carole Lynn Sharoff hosted an evening meeting in honor of the Rotary Club Members who are Veterans. The celebration was held jointly with the annual Past President’s Dinner where as many as 35 past presidents may attend to share fellowship and offer advice and counsel to club President. The evening featured a speech by Gloucester Veteran’s Agent Adam Curcuru and a presentation from local photographer Jason Grow who spoke of the exhibit he is showcasing at Gloucester’s City Hall. The exhibit includes photos of more than 60 Veterans from the communities that comprise Cape Ann, namely Gloucester, Rockport, Essex and Manchester. The photographs shown via a slide presentation included Army Air Corp Sgt Robert McKechnie father of Gloucester past President David McKechnie and Mike Linquata a recipient of four bronze medals, and two purple hearts.
Members of the Gloucester Rotary Club brought in items which were delivered to the Veteran’s Office in Gloucester to be part of the holiday care packages sent to men and women in the armed services from Cape Ann and deployed around the world.

 Ipswich Rotary is supporting the Ipswich YMCA expansion with a donation of $25,000. The Ipswich Family Y serves residents of Ipswich and Rowley, towns also served by Ipswich Rotary, plus Essex, Hamilton and Wenham.
The Ipswich Rotary Club has a long history of partnership with the local YMCA. In addition to supporting the initial construction, the club built adjacent Rotary Park in 2004-05 as part of its celebration of the 100th anniversary of Rotary International. The park, which includes a baseball field, gazebo and open space, has become an important feature of the Y complex, especially during summer camp months. In recent years Rotarians have enhanced the park with new millstone signage and a bench dedicated to the memory of one of the park’s founders, Rotarian Bud Conley. In 2013, the Rotary sponsored Ipswich High School Interact club placed one of five international Peace Poles at the park entrance as part of their annual community service outreach.
In the photo, Gerry Beauchamp, Ipswich YMCA Executive Director and an Ipswich Rotary Director, is presented with a check from the club. Representing Ipswich Rotary are President Bob Gravino, Immediate Past President Rev. Brad Clark during whose term the grant was initiated, President Elect Lisa Shanko, and Vice President Cushing Titcomb.

 Last Sunday, under a beautiful blue autumn sky and in the presence of the color guard from the U.S.S. Constitution - over one hundred runners participated in the the second annual Don Humphreys Veterans Memorial road race. Runners took a scenic pass through downtown Marblehead and were supported by dozens of volunteers as well as the staff from YMCA who transported and operated all the specialized electronic equipment needed to start/stop and time all the runners.
When the race was completed, all the participants were invited to share snacks and stories at the Boston Yacht Club. Overlooking a stunning beautiful Marblehead Harbor, the winners were given certificates and all the participates were grateful to have helped furtrher an important cause.
 All proceeds from this race will support the Marblehead Rotary Club’s scholarship program and will provide a funds to support a son or daughter of a veteran or a student entering a military academy.

The District Public Image Committee wishes to congratulate the following clubs on their successful applications for the Public Image Mini-Grants:
 Belle Isle- Medford
- Methuen
- Peabody
The grant was offered as a 1:1 match with club funds up to $250 to improve the public image of the Rotary Clubs of District 7930. As defined by Rotary International, public image can include advertising, apparel, brochures, business cards, signage, social media, promotional materials and more! The four recipients will be using their grants to fund items including name tags, banners, hats, brochure printing, and more. All designs had to meet the new Master Branding guidelines.  The Burlington Pride Special Olympics softball team has been sponsored and coached by members of the Burlington Rotary Club for many years. Our club organized and held an awards banquet at the Burlington Recreation Department on November 10th with most of the players attending.
Each player received a trophy from our club which they are proudly holding in this photo. This was the initial awarding of team trophies by the club.

 On Saturday, December 12, the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor will present its annual Holiday Pops concert in the festive atmosphere of historic Abbot Hall. Tickets to the club's largest fundraiser go on sale November 12, and tickets sell out quickly, so reserve your table or balcony seat soon. Maestro Dirk Hillyer and the Hillyer Festival Orchestra will once again present beloved Christmas and Chanukkah songs—along with a special surprise theme this year. See you at the concert!

 On October 29 the Rockport Rotary Club donated two MakerBot 3-D printers, purchased with a District 7930 local matching grant, to the Rockport Middle/High Schools. The Rockport school system matched the gift with two additional printers for a total of four. The students printed a sign to identify the newly designated “Rockport Rotary 3-D Printer Lab”.
Rockport Rotary President Maryanne Bland presented the gift to the school. The gift was envisioned as an important learning tool to prepare students for future careers in technology fields. Students will be encouraged to develop skills in engineering design, 3-D modeling of both mechanical and architectural designs and technical drawing/CAD under the guidance of David Young, technology and engineering teacher.

 The District 7930 Rotaplast team recently returned from their sponsored Rotaplast medical mission to the Philippines. Club financial support allowed for 122 surgical procedures to be performed on patients in Cebu City, on a south central island in the Philippines. Medical treatments focused on surgically repairing cleft lips, cleft palates and dental work for patients aging three months to 35 years. Medical Director Evelyn Abad explained, "Often children and adults with these deformities are shunned by their community. We give them a second chance to smile."
The medical team consisted of eight non-medical volunteers including David Boudreau and Lisa Collin from the Amesbury Rotary Club, Alan Michel from the Andover Rotary Club, Bob Arsenault from the Ipswich Rotary Club, Bob Wood from the Peabody Rotary Club and Amy Luckiewicz from the Wakefield Rotary Club. Former Rotarian Barbara Hofelich and Amy's mother Susan Luckiewicz also joined the team. They were joined by a team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and Rotarians from California, Washington, Hawaii, and South Dakota.
With three operating tables in use, the team was able to complete 122 surgical procedures and over 300 dental procedures. All medical treatment was free of charge to patients and many traveled up to six hours to visit the hospital in the central part of Cebu City. The team was supported locally by Filipino volunteers from the Rotary Club of Cebu City Port Center. The team was also on hand to help the local Rotary Club celebrate it's 1,000th patient over 13 missions.

To the Rotarians and Clubs of District 7930 and beyond,
On behalf of myself and my family may I take this opportunity to express our thanks and appreciation to the Rotarians and Clubs of District 7930 and beyond for your overwhelming support on the occasion of the death of my beloved wife Carol. Carol was a very special lady who helped so many people through the Church and several other organizations, to which she devoted many hours each week without any thought of recognition. In the receiving line at the wake there were several women who told me that she had saved their life. Still, none of these activities ever interfered with her being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother; she was the center of our loving family. The outpouring of love and support by so many of you during our time of great sadness, with your visits, letters and cards, flowers, spiritual bouquets, and so on will never be forgotten. Each of you hold a special place in my heart. I consider Rotary and each one of you to be part of my extended family and my affiliation with Rotary, for over half a century, has enriched my life more than any other organization with the exception of The Church. Once more, thank you and God bless you all.
