Get Ready for World Immunization Week
Join with Rotary to promote the power of vaccines to protect children and save lives
During World Immunization Week, 24-30 April, let’s advocate for polio eradication and the importance of vaccines to the health and well-being of our communities.

So far this year $44,053 has been raised within the district to End Polio Now.  That is matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation at a 2:1 ratio for $88,106 additional going to Polio Eradication.  This means that this year a total of $132,159 is earmarked to provide 220,265 vaccines so far this year.  Let's keep collecting our pledges to reach our goal of $100,000.

District Assembly 2022

The District Assembly is our next step in the journey of training incoming club leaders for the upcoming Rotary year 2022-23, including the Grant Qualification Seminar, which is open to all club members. This year we will be in-person again and will be meeting at the Four Points Sheraton in Wakefield on Wednesday, April 27.

For the Grant Qualification Seminar we recommend that each club send at least two members to attend - but there is no limit. If your club grant committee includes multiple members, it would be ideal if they could all attend and get qualified. The District Assembly is open to all Rotarians in our district!

The evening will begin at 6:00 PM with five parallel tracks for: Presidents-Elect, Secretaries, Treasurers, Foundation Chairs, as well as a fireside chat with DG Terry Curran (for all Rotarians who don't fall into any of the previously mentioned four roles).

At 7:00 PM we will be serving a soup & sandwich buffet and continue the evening with a working dinner meeting for all groups together, which includes the District Qualification Seminar and the presentation of the District Budget.

Happy April Fools' from Beverly
Our meeting started out as usual, with members trickling in at first to check in.  President-Elect Mike Jones gave me a make-up slip which was signed Mickey Mouse from the Lake Buena Vista club.  I had remembered that he was at Disney World, so I thought it was a cute joke on the part of the Florida club.   Next came in Past-President Marshall Handly, who gave me a make-up slip from Athens, Greece.  He went on and told me all kinds of details of his trip and I was telling him how I wanted to go there so badly.  A few more members came in and then SEVEN other make-up slips were turned in.  It dawned on me that they were all the same style of make-up slip.  When I read one of them closely, my suspicions were validated.  This one was signed by Glinda Witch, from Oz, Kentucky Rotary Club.  Weren't our members from Beverly something else?  I had slips from Key West, Berlin Bunker, and the Bowery, New York. They got me good!

April Fools', Jackie!!!
