District Assembly April 20

District Assembly is coming up on April 20 on Zoom.

What is the District Assembly you may ask?  It’s when we start training for the upcoming Rotary year.  This year we will again be on Zoom.  The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m.  First up is the Club Secretary Training.  Learn how to navigate through Club Runner and the important aspects of your job.  Next is the Club Treasurer Training.  One of our current club treasurers will give you tips and hints on how to keep your club up and running. Don’t remember how to get into your My Rotary account to make your donation to the Annual Fund?  PDG Joan Arsenault will show you and answer any questions you may have.  After that Alexander Falk and I will take you through the PowerPoint for the District Qualification for next years District Managed Grants.  Everyone who is present will get credit for attending the qualification and those clubs with at least 2 members will get the memorandum of understanding sent out to them.  After this session Rotarians will need to go online and view the training and take the quiz at the end of the session.  The final session for the evening will be the district budget.  District Finance Committee Chair, PDG Peter Simonsen will take us through next year's budget.  Please note that a quorum of Presidents Elect need to be present to approve the budget.  Please register to attend the assembly on the District Webpage.  The morning of the assembly the Zoom link will be sent to all registrants.
Spring 2021 Mini-Grants for Membership, Public Image, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
District 7930 is pleased to offer all clubs a one-time mini grant starting now!!!

Starting this week the District is offering all clubs a one-time reimbursement mini grant in the amount of $200.  We are focusing on the areas of Membership, Public Image and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Just fill out the application online, and your approval will be quickly forthcoming.

What can you do?  Replace those club flyers that you have run out of.  Make new t-shirts for your club with the correct logos from Brand Central.  Have a friendraiser, as your club starts to meet in person again later this spring, inviting them to a social to learn about Rotary.  Develop and print an orientation package for new members joining your club. Sponsor a new diverse member to your club ($200 max) who might not be able to afford your regular club dues. Host a DEI training for your club...  These are only a few examples, your imagination is the limit.

DISTRICT MEMBERSHIP COMMITTE SPRING WEBINAR

Join the District Membership Committee on Star Wars Day, Tuesday, May 4th, at 7:00 PM for an informative evening to discuss the results of our recent District Exit Interview Survey. In January 2021 we contacted former members of Rotary Clubs in district 7930, who left the district during 2018, 2019, and 2020. We received an amazing number of responses and will present a detailed analysis of why people leave Rotary Clubs in our district - and then facilitate a discussion on what we can learn from those answers.
This evening is primarily intended for Club Presidents, Presidents-Elect, Club Membership Chairs, and Assistant Governors, but any Rotarian interested in Membership is invited to join!
Advance registration is required. Please click here to register for this event.
You will receive the Zoom link on May 4th in the morning, but the link will only be sent to those who have registered in advance...
Rotary Club Leverkusen Rhein-Wupper is looking for a partner club
As some of you may know, our district 7930 is one of the founding districts of the new Inter-Country-Committee (ICC) Austria/Germany/USA that was established at the RI Convention in Hamburg, with PDG Joan Arsenault being one of the initial signatories on the ICC's founding documents representing the USA. As part of our membership in this ICC we recently heard from our friends in Germany that the newly formed Rotary Club Leverkusen Rhein-Wupper (located in Leverkusen, Germany) is looking for an International Rotary-Contact Club to manage joint projects and to cultivate friendship across the borders.
For more information, please see this PDF Flyer, which includes website links and contact information. If your club is interested in such a partnership, please reach out to this new club directly and reference that our district is a member of the ICC Austria/Germany/USA.
