Jingle Bell Walk -- Ipswich Interact

Ipswich, MA – “Jingle Bell Walk” Saturday, December 18 2021, 11:00 am to 2 pm

Join us for a day of holiday festivities and cheer! Greet Santa as he arrives at the Ipswich Town Wharf. Sing carols with Buddy the Elf as we await Santa’s arrival! Jingle bells will be available for purchase. Jingle your bells and follow our honored guest and Buddy the Elf on a festive “Jingle Bell Walk” to the Ipswich Town Hall at 45 Green Street. Keep a sharp eye out for the “Grinch”!

Once Santa arrives at Town Hall, he will receive children, 11 and under to take photos with. Parents are urged to bring a camera! Each child will receive a gift bag from Santa as well. Following their visit with Santa, the children can have their faces painted, play festive games, and create holiday crafts. The Rotary Club will serve pizza, hot cocoa, cookies and more in the cafeteria.

Tickets will be available for purchase in order to enjoy delicious food, face painting, and crafts. There will be free games to play as well as raffles for Christmas trees and other great items!

Attendees are encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts fit for a child to support the Marines in their organization, Toys for Tots! For more information go to www.ipswichrotary.org. Proceeds from the Jingle Bell Walk will be donated to local business and we are working towards funding an international project!
Lynnfield's Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon
On November 18, the Lynnfield Rotary Club hosted its annual Thanksgiving Luncheon at the Salem Country Club. Unique to this event is the celebration of the athletic rivalry between the North Reading and Lynnfield High School football teams prior to the annual Thanksgiving Day Game.  Captains of both teams, as well as Captains of the Cheer Teams and the North Reading Band joined the festivities.  A letter about sportsmanship written by our Rotary Unsung Hero, Linda Naccara, from the Lynnfield Council on Aging, was read to the group of aspiring young leaders. Coaches from each team spoke about the outstanding camaraderie and growth of student athletes throughout their varsity careers.

In addition, special to this occasion, the Lynnfield Rotary Club gave a check of $5,000 to the Rotary Foundation to support international service projects across the globe.  District Governor Terry Rezendes Curran accepted the donation and spoke about the wonderful work of the Rotary Foundation.  The young adults at the luncheon got to hear how "Service Above Self" is put into action through Rotary.

District Managed Grant Supporting Campers
Belle Isle Rotary Club has submitted a District Managed Grant to support campers from East Boston to Camp Rotary.

For those Clubs without Interact Clubs (or even for Clubs with Interacts), please consider supporting the District Managed Grant from Belle Isle Rotary Club.  It will support 10 students from the Salesian Boys & Girls Club in East Boston to go to Camp Rotary for a week this summer. This experience will make a lasting impact on these children, who otherwise will never experience summer camp.  It will also support Camp Rotary as it enters its 100th year.

Donations to support this can be sent to Belle Isle Rotary c/o Tom Hankard, 14 Edgehill Road, Winthrop, MA 02152. Please add Camp Rotary to the memo line.
