Boston Rotaract Completes 2-year Clean Water Project
Boston Rotaractors raised nearly $10,000 during the 2018-2019 Rotary Year with the goal of providing sustainable clean water solutions to communities in Ghana. August 12, 2019 marked the successful completion of their long-term international service project.

In order to pursue the two-year clean water mission, the club collaborated with two organizations: 1. Pure Home Water (PHW) and 2. The Rotaract Club of Adenta Central.

PHW is an MIT-based social enterprise that creates and distributes household drinking water technologies in the northern region of Ghana. Boston Rotaract donated $8,500 to two separate PHW initiatives from 2018-2020. As a result, 222 sustainable water filters were given to families, providing access to clean water to 1,500 people across three communities in Tamale, Ghana. The project was completed in July 2019.
