PeaceJam will be our speakers for District 7930 World Peace and Understanding Dinner.
For this World Peace & Understanding Dinner, we are doing something new: This will be an interactive evening led by youth and PeaceJam. We ask that you invite your Interact Clubs, Rotaractors, RYLA students, Youth Exchange Students and any other youth interested to this event.
The PeaceJam Foundation is an international organization whose mission statement is "to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world through the inspiration of Nobel Peace Laureates who pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody." The 'One Billion Acts of Peace' Campaign has been nominated 8 times for the Nobel Peace Prize. 14 Nobel Laureates have joined the campaign with the mission that: Everyone matters. Everyone can make a difference.
Together, we are unstoppable.
Young people will be working together with Rotarians to brainstorm about new projects that can bring peace to our local communities - in the six areas of focus that Rotary cares about. During the evening, we will develop project ideas, and then it is our goal that after this evening Rotarians and young leaders will go back to their communities and implement ten thousand acts of peace in our Rotary District 7930, that will be part of the PeaceJam One Billion Acts of Peace campaign.
