Medford Rotary Club supports High School Students

Medford Rotarians join Interact Students at Café’ Electra for luncheon meeting and to present donations. First, a donation was made to the Interact Club that Medford Rotary sponsors. The donation was presented to Aimee Saulnier, MHS Faculty Advisor for the Interact Club by Rotary President, Bob Kaminer. Interact is a High School Club sponsored by the Medford Rotary Club. Just like the Rotary Club of Medford, they raise monies to help others in need. This year, they participated in various fundraisers and in a drive to collect gloves, hats and socks for MHS “Closet” where students and their siblings who are in need can take these items for free.
 
Interact Liaison, Michele English also presented six Interact Students a certificate of appreciation for their participation in the Polar Plunge for Polio in February, sponsored by Rotary District 7930. The Polar Plunge participants raise funds to help the eradication of polio throughout the world.
 
A check was also presented to students of the Culinary Arts Program at Medford Voke Tech. The students learn culinary skills as part of their curriculum and hosted us for luncheon. Their cooking skills and servicing were greatly appreciated and lunch was delicious. The funds will be used to help support the Culinary Program.
 
President Bob Kaminer presented two students competing in a DECA competition in California with a check to help with their expenses to attend the competition in California. DECA is an association comprised of high school and college students. The students will be competing in the stock market competition.

We wish them much luck and success. The DECA organization was recently brought back to the school to help prepare leaders and entrepreneurs for careers and education in marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and other business areas.
