Anne Lewis is New Foundation Chair

I am pleased to announce the appointment of our District 7930's new District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair!

Please welcome Anne Lewis, Rotary Club of Rockport as our New DRFC. Anne was selected by the DG Track after an extensive research and a detailed interview with her.

Anne brings a wealth of experience and a strong vision to this role. Her expertise will be a tremendous asset to the District Foundation as the mission of Rotary International is pursued.

About Anne Lewis:

Anne served on the TRF District Committee for numerous years in the past.
She is well versed in grants both District Managed Grants and Global Grants as well as Major Donor Fundraising.
She understands PHF points and all aspects of TRF.
She is Rockport Rotary Club's current Foundation Chair.
She is an Arch Klumph Society member.
She is committed to the multi year role.

Nominations Open for District Governor '28-29

Nominations for District Governor for 2028-29 are being accepted starting September 1, 2025. Deadline to submit nominations: Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

This important individual leads and supports the clubs in the district by inspiring and motivating them to Do Good in the World! All clubs are encouraged to propose suitable candidates who meet the qualifications to serve. One of these requirements is that at the time of taking office, must have been a past president of a club, completed seven years of membership in one or more clubs, and to have attended governors-elect training seminar and International Assembly. If you feel that your club has such a leader among your members, please consider nominating them to help fulfill Rotary's ongoing missions.

The nomination form can be downloaded here. In addition to the nomination form, please include a Rotary-focused resume of the candidate, as well as the candidate's vision statement of what they would like to accomplish for our district in their year as district governor. Completed nomination forms and the additional documents should be sent to DG Pooja Singla.

Rotaplast Needs Volunteers

This year Rotaplast has asked DG Pooja to support their Vocational Training Team (VTT) Mission in Faridabad, India from Oct 25-Nov 9, 2025. VTTs are groups of professionals who travel abroad to teach local specialists their skills in their own field. This VTT will teach the local MDs how to perform Cleft Palate Surgeries in Faridabad, India.

We are seeking non-medical volunteers for the mission: Quartermaster; Recovery Room Helper; Recreation Therapist; Equipment Sterilizer; Ward Coordinator; Patient Transporter; Photo Journalist/Mission Historian.

Membership and PI Mini Grants Open

District Membership and Public Image Mini Grants are opening.

Please make sure that you approve these details:

Open to all grant qualified clubs.
Must be submitted by club member who is grant trained.
Applications are due by December 1, 2025.
Submitted grants will be approved by December 21, 2025
All final bills, payments, photos, etc. due by March 31, 2026
Maximum reimbursement to a single club is $250 (against $500 in expenses)
If 2 clubs combine, maximum reimbursement is $375 (against $750 in expenses)
Only 1 grant per club.
Maximum budget is $3000 for all mini grants. If we receive more than $3000 in requests, we can have a waiting list.
Only 1 mini grant per club.

Honor a Veteran at the Heroes Event

DG Bob Wood Memorial Heroes’ Celebration

A Rotary Foundation/Paul Harris Fellow Event for our Veterans: Honoring Those Who Have Served!

Date: November 12, 2025

Place: Andover Country Club

Guest Speaker: Brigadier General Jack Hammond (ret.) of Home Base, a national non-profit dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of Veterans and their families.

Clubs are invited to nominate a military veteran (or active-duty serviceperson) as a local hero in your community and award them a Paul Harris Recognition. This is a major opportunity to expand our reach as we publicize this throughout our District.

Please discuss the following with your club members:

1. Select a Hero if you haven't already and your club wishes to participate. The Hero(s) must be a veteran, no exceptions please. It can be awarded posthumously.

Wakefield and Lynnfield Meet for Trivia Challenge

Last week, the Wakefield Rotary Club hosted a FUN co-meeting with Lynnfield Rotary. Attendees were mixed into teams to play an interactive trivia featuring some Rotary questions, music, and other topics. The book "Kindness is My Superpower" will be donated to both the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library and Lynnfield Public Library on behalf of both clubs. The winning team got to sign the book plates!

Wakefield President Kathy Boyle said, "We were so glad to have such a great turnout and welcome Lynnfield. Our club actually sponsored them!" She added, "Having fun together during our meeting is something we do at least every few months and it was special to us to have Lynnefield Rotarians join in."

The trivia game was hosted by Past President Amy Luckiewicz with assistance from Wakefield President Kathy and Lynnfield Co-President Christine Travers.

Come out to the Reading Fall Street Faire on Sept. 7

The Reading Fall Street Faire is coming to downtown Reading on Sunday, September 7, from noon to 5 pm, and we need your help! All Rotary members are invited, along with high school students and older—a perfect opportunity for students seeking community service hours. It’s also a fun way to meet and work alongside Rotarians from neighboring clubs. Volunteers Needed for Reading Fall Street Faire!

Even if you can't volunteer, come check out the Faire. This is one of the biggest Rotary run events in the area.
