District Governor Curious Zoom
Nominations for District Governor are extended through November 30th.  Is there a Past President in your club whom you think would make a great District Governor? Come and explore the nuts and bolts of being the DG. To help answer your questions, a group of Past District Governors would like you to join them in a zoom presentation, “Are you DG Curious?” on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7pm.

Follow this link to register and you will receive an email with the zoom link the week before the event.

A Rotary Foundation/Paul Harris Fellow Even:  Honoring Community Heroes!  November 12, 2026, Danversport Waterfront. $75 per person.  Register here, until November 8th.

Clubs are invited to nominate a hero in your community and award them a Paul Harris Recognition.  This is a major opportunity to expand our reach as we publicize this throughout our District.

Please discuss the following with your club members:

Select a Hero if you haven't already and your club wishes to participate.  It can be awarded posthumously.

Save the date on your calendar and consider cancelling your meeting that week.  Let's pack the place to support our Heroes!

So how do you report your Hero and assign Paul Harris points?  Go to our District Foundation Hero Submisson Page here.  Appreciate everyone's excitement for this incredible event.  If your club needs points to assign, let us know.  Please contact Peter Majane or Governor Terry with questions.

Food Service Project

The Beverly Rotary Club, partnering with Ellis Square Friends made and delivered meals to 96 folks and prepared for 25 indoor diners, and then came the CORN! We received a donation of 200 ears of corn. What a wonderful gift, but holy shucking! That meant shucking, cutting all that corn off the cob, and finding room to store it all.

We made a faux corn chowder, served up a deconstructed shepherd's pie, and finished the meal with oven-steamed corn on the cob.

Rotary was the STAR of the show! Their help made all that extra work possible, and the corn was a HUGE hit with our diners!

The Ellis Square regular crew was absolutely thrilled to have the extra helping hands. When you're feeding our community, a little extra help goes a LONG way, especially when 200 ears of corn decide to join the party!

We took our "service above self" literally serving those in need in Beverly.

Ipswich-Rowley Shoe Collection Stimulates Opportunity

Ipswich-Rowley Rotary, in partnership with Paula Henrys Fitness and the Ipswich Family YMCA, donated 228 pairs of gently worn shoes to Soles4Souls (Soles4Souls.org)

Through sorting, grading, re-commerce, repurposing, repairing, and responsible end of life solutions, Soles4Souls extends the life of shoes and clothing to maximize their impact while reducing environmental waste.

In low-income countries, long-term work can be scarce. Soles4Souls works with like-valued partners to help people start and grow businesses – using donated shoes and clothing to create sustainable livelihoods. Vetted partners in-country purchase the donated shoes and clothing and resell them at a modest markup to 4Opportunity entrepreneurs and thrift store.

Marblehead's Clubs Unite for World Polio Day
In honor of World Polio Day, Marblehead’s two Rotary Clubs—the morning Marblehead Harbor Club and the afternoon Marblehead Rotary (Seaside) Club—came together on October 22, for a shared purpose: keeping public awareness alive for the ongoing effort to eliminate polio.

Since launching in 1979, Rotary International has maintained a steadfast focus on this cause. Even as new health crises and medical emergencies demand our attention, Rotarians remain dedicated to ensuring the fight against polio is never forgotten.

Both local clubs brought this vital mission close to home:

In the morning at Marblehead Harbor: Speaker Rick Ashley shared the deeply moving story of his father’s heroic struggle against polio, reminding us of the personal toll this disease takes on families.

Then in the afternoon at Marblehead Rotary Seaside: Linda Sullivan, Chair of our Polio Program, emphasized the importance of remembrance and reinforced our local solidarity with Rotary International's global mission.

Together, Marblehead Rotarians mark World Polio Day by honoring those impacted by the disease in the past while working to ensure future generations carry this awareness forward.
