A brief opening ceremony will be held from 6:45 – 7:00 PM followed by dinner starting at 7:00 PM. At 7:45 PM we will begin the installation festivities. The dinner cost per person is $65.

Gloucester Hosts Zoom Meeting with Rwandan Partners
This Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 7:45am, the Gloucester Rotary is hosting members on the Boneza community on a zoom call during our weekly meeting.  Gloucester Rotarian Dave McKechnie -- who introduced us to Boneza and the Kivu Hills Academy -- is visiting Boneza and will be on the zoom call from Rwanda.

Since 2017, the Gloucester and Rockport Rotary Clubs have partnered and obtained grants to support the community of Boneza, Rwanda.  This community is roughly the same population as the combined residency of Rockport and Gloucester.  But, unlike those of us fortunate enough to live on Cape Ann, there is little infrastructure support in Boneza.

Build a Bed with Lynnfield Rotary
The Lynnfield Rotary Club is hosting “Build a Bed” on Saturday, May 21 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Lynnfield Fire Dept., South Station, 600 Salem St., Lynnfield, MA. We are working with “A Bed For Every Child,” a Lynn based group providing beds for needy children in Essex County.

At this event, all materials will be provided to teams of four. You will construct a bed with lumber, tools, and hardware (and expert instruction) being provided. It will be a wonderful experience for you and a significant resource for the children.

We welcome your financial support and would be pleased to have any or all of you join us for the construction event.  The cost to build a bed is $350.  Register a team of 4 or more to build a bed for $350.  Sponsorships of $350 are also accepted.

Bevery Strong and Growing
As of last Thursday, May 5th, Beverly Rotary Club has inducted a total of 15 new members this year into our club.  We feel this is quite a feat!  Our membership is now up to 114 members.  One of the new memberships is a corporate one, bringing our corporate total to five.  Having the ability to have a corporate membership available, has enticed some places to join our club.  We will continue in this vein actively to recruit new members into our vibrant club for the next year!

Medford Citizen of the Year
The members of Medford Rotary Club wish to congratulate Vin Frattura for being chosen by the Medford Chamber of Commerce's Citizen of the Year!  Vin has been a member of the Medford Rotary Club for 29 years.  He served as Past President and has been on the Board of Directors many times.

Vinny was chosen by the past recipients of the Citizen of the Year Award and truly exemplifies the Rotary Motto of "Service Above Self," which he referenced in his speech upon accepting the Clippership Award.  Vinny is a "doer" and a "giver."  You ask him and he is there with his time and energy.  Our membership gives a resounding thumbs up to the Chamber for nominating and voting Vinny as their "Citizen of the Year."

Pictured here is Chamber President Maury Carroll presenting Medford Citizen of the Year Award to Vinny Fratura.
