The Job of a Lifetime
Being a District Governor is the most rewarding position I have ever held, so much that I stepped up to serve the district a second time. Although the commitment might appear to be daunting, the opportunity to serve Rotarians in District 7930 is filled with so many opportunities.

The training that is provided to an incoming Governor is extensive. From engagement and advice from Past District Governors to the interaction with my NEPELS and Zone classmates to the training received from Rotary International at Zone and the International Assembly, there is no other program geared at preparing someone for such a role. I have done my best to learn the mechanics of Rotary and to provide the leadership to support clubs in their quest to provide service to their communities and the world to “Create Lasting Impact.”

Do you know someone who would make a great Governor? Think about fellow Rotarians who have the basic skills that could be magnified through the training that is provided, and over the course of 24-30 months would be prepared to lead our wonderful district. I can guarantee that the time spent in service to the district will pay off in ways that you cannot anticipate.  It is often said that being the President of a club is the best job in Rotary. I believe that the role of District Governor eclipses it.

Fellow Rotarian Gloria Birungi Needs Your Help
Burlington Breakfast Rotary Co-President, Gloria Birungi, was taken in by ICE earlier this month while at Logan Airport traveling for a work conference.  She has been held in ICE detention without release.

Gloria, she has been Co-President of the Burlington Breakfast Rotary for two years, is a single mother of three wonderful children ages 7-13, holds two jobs and still finds time to give of herself for volunteering.

We are reaching out to as many fellow Rotarians as possible to be there to support Gloria at her hearing on August 10 at 9 a.m. in Chelmsford. We will all wear our Rotary shirts!

This is NOT a political protest. This is a humanitarian cause. We need Gloria to be returned to her children while her case is being adjudicated.

Her hearing is scheduled for: August 10 at 9 a.m., Chelmsford Immigration Court, 150 Apollo Drive, Chelmsford, MA

Please come out and support your fellow Rotarian!  For more information or questions, you may contact Fran Fazio at 781-266-6021. Thank you for your support!

All district members welcome! Zoom link here. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84495736175/
