Here's a reminder that your club as a nonprofit or tax-exempt organization is required to file its annual return (Forms 990, 990-EZ, 990-PF, or 990-BL) by November 15.  (This year since November 15 falls on a Saturday, the deadline is extended to November 17.)  Make sure you file your return or duly file for an extension.

In lieu of regular meeting last week, Beverly Rotary made 100 take home dinners for home bound Beverly folk. With the guidance of Brenda Mattos of Ellis Square Friends, a nutritious and delicious meal was prepared.

Our diners got Mexican seasoned rice. All rice seasonings came from Green Beverly Food diversion program. Corn on the cob that was donated by the American Legion in Middleton. We decided to make Mexican lasagna because we received a case of spinach wraps from our Stop & Shop donation. We prepared for 100 people, we served 96. And today’s win...we served 100 people at $1.06 a serving!!! Yup, Ellis Square Friends spent $106.00 to make that entire meal. So $49.75 of that was spent on Chicken. All we purchased was cheese, sour cream, Salsa and a 10lb bag of rice. And that is how we do it.

It was a privilege to welcome our Rotary District Governor, Pooja Singla, to the Rotary Club of Peabody. Her visit brought great energy and a clear vision for the year ahead.

She shared inspiring updates on district-wide initiatives—from youth programs and international service projects to local partnerships making a real difference. We're excited to align our club’s efforts with the broader goals of the district and explore new ways to contribute meaningfully.

The Wakefield Rotary Club hosted its Halloween party at a meeting this week. Co-hosts Jay Curley and Amy Luckiewicz led several haunted games and invited members to dress up in costumes.

 

Following the weekly lunch, Rotarians and guests gathered to play a Halloween Music Trivia game, a Halloween category-based party game, and more, all for fun Halloween-themed prizes. Members were encouraged to rotate partners on team games and sit with someone they may not know that well. Club Vice-President Paul Adams said, “We love to do service projects here, but we do take breaks for fun. It’s a time for us to work with each other, build friendships, and take a break from the daily hustle of the day.” 

Our annual Halloween lunch meeting was a spirited success! More than half of our members joined in the fun by coming in costume, adding plenty of laughter and color to the day. We were delighted to welcome District Governor Pooja Singla, who arrived as Super Rotarian—cape and all!—along with our Assistant Governor Ron Block.

 

The room was filled with witches, cats, Mrs. Claus, Eeyore, a pirate, a roller skater, and many more creative looks. This festive gathering is just one of the many fun and fellowship-filled traditions that make our club so special throughout the year! Can you spot past District Governor Ingrid Brown?
