Wakefield Supports Sober Living
The Wakefield Rotary Club completed delivery of its donations to Ruth’s Way for Women and 121 North Common in Lynn. Ruth’s Way provides services that support “whole health and wellness,” and supports sober housing for women. Similarly, 121 North Common provides sober living for men.

The club took requests from both locations to best serve their clients’ needs. Donations included toilet paper, sanitary products, cleaning supplies, new sheets, and towels.

Ruth’s Way Founder and Executive Director Nicole O’Brien spoke at the club and highlighted the impact of donations. She was also on hand as Club President Kathy Boyle and Julie MacArthur delivered a trunk-full of supplies. Boyle noted, “Supporting those in recovery is important to their health. It’s important for them to know people care and haven’t forgotten about them.” 121 N Common House Manager Seymour McKenzie was also on hand to receive over 12 boxes of donations, delivered by Past President Amy Luckiewicz and volunteer Rob Dunn.

Burlington Interact Holiday Party
The Rotary Club of Burlington and the Interact Club hosted a Holiday Event for our own Special Olympic Basketball team and the Echo Enrichment Club. There were 70 people in attendance for a buffet dinner, holiday music and a visit from Santa and friends. Everyone had an opportunity to meet Santa and receive a gift. It was so much fun and enjoyed by all. A special thanks to the Interact advisors Kevin Carnell, John Tuccinardi and Susan Stewart for organizing the event.

Melrose Holiday Giving
Melrose Rotary Club members were offered not one, but two service opportunities over the holidays, and the response was tremendous for both! A local family recently lost everything in a devastating house fire, and Melrose Rotarians provided Christmas gifts - items specifically requested by the family - as they begin to replace items lost in the fire. Items were wrapped and then shared with the family for their holiday. Also the club discovered that Bread of Life in Malden, where the club provides a monthly meal, was short on cranberry juice to serve its guests (an item not typically donated, but much appreciated and enjoyed by those who dine at the evening meal.) Rotarians were happy to deliver over 50 bottles of juice to Bread of Life in December. These small act of kindness were one way that Melrose Rotarians spread a bit of holiday joy to our community.

Pictured are members of Melrose Rotary with holiday items to be shared.
