District Installation Registration is Now Open to ALL
Since the Governor’s announcement that “business is back to normal,” the Danversport Event Center has relaxed their COVID requirements and reopened to full capacity. What that means for us is that those incoming Presidents can invite their family, friends and fellow Rotarians to come and celebrate the upcoming Rotary year.  Consider skipping your Club meeting that week and instead join us for the installation on June 24. We also want to thank those Presidents who have guided our Clubs through the pandemic this past year. Since the International Convention next year is in Houston Texas our theme will be country, so feel free to come in your jeans, cowboy boots, bolo ties and/or cowboy hats.  The cost is $50.00 per person and can be paid during your on-line registration. Please don’t wait until the last minute as walk-ins will not be allowed. We need to give the facility firm numbers several days before.

DEI Think Tank Panel Discussion
On June 29th from 7-8:30 PM the District 7930 Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee will be hosting our final event for the 20-21 Rotary year, a panel discussion about how your Club and/or District can start or enhance DEI initiatives.  The panel will introduce themselves and answer some questions and then we will open up the discussion to all attendees.

The DEI Committee has secured four great panelists and DEI subject matter experts, who will share with you some great ideas and initiatives as you embark on the new 21-22 Rotary year.

Panelists include:
  • Lexi Kantor – District 7930 DEI Committee Member, Boston Rotaract Club member and Human Resources professional for Ovia Health.
  • Bill Paulson - Rotary Club of Needham member, Past President, and Chair of the Rotary District 7910 Social Equity Task Force.

Lynn's Camp Rotary Begins 2nd Century with a Ribbon Cutting for new Dining Hall

On June 5 2021, Camp Rotary had the ribbon cutting to open its new dining hall and to start its centennial year celebration. It was one hundred years ago, in April 1921, when the Rotary Club of Lynn purchased 48 acres, including a small camp, bordering Stiles Pond in West Boxford and Camp Rotary was born. That first year of Camp Rotary a dining hall was built to provide meals for the campers. In 2020 that hall was razed and construction began on its replacement.

This year marks the centennial year of the operation of the Camp. It is believed that Camp Rotary in West Boxford is the oldest continuous Rotary Camp/project in the world.
It is amazing to think that over 100 years ago a relatively new Rotary Club was formed in 1918 in Lynn. Those members of the Club had the foresight to envision a Camp which could be used to give underprivileged boys of Lynn an opportunity to experience an overnight camp in the woods of West Boxford. Some of those boys may have lost a father during the Great War.

Boston Rotary 7 & JOYGURU Humanitarian Services
As you know while the Corona crisis in the US is getting under control and life is getting back to old norm, situation in India is getting worse and currently it is absolutely devastating!  The suffering and pain of people are beyond imagination. They are fighting for life with a huge need of Oxygen Concentrators, Oxygen Generators, Vaccines and many other essential medical supplies.

JOYGURU HUMANITARIAN SERVICES and Boston Rotary #7 have taken the initiative to help hospitals in India to purchase life saving items such as:

Oxygen concentrators, Ventilators, installation of oxygen generators and other essential medical supplies.

There are so many people who are gasping for air and battling to survive. JOYGURU has already sent $50,000.00 to one hospital in Calcutta. There are two other hospitals who have requested help.

We would like bring awareness of the situation to District 7930 and to possibly join us and serve humanity.
