The Marblehead Rotary Club collected and donated over 50 toys for the annual Christmas Firefighter Toy Drive this year. On Thursday, December 20th, President Alexander Falk and Past-President David Deutsch met with Chief Jason Gilliland to drop off an entire pickup truck full of toys at the Marblehead Fire Department.

For over a decade, the Rotary Club of Lynn has engaged the services of the Lynn Public Schools’ Fine Arts Department to entertain its members at the Club’s final meeting before Christmas. In past years, the LPS has sent its jazz band or concert singers but Thursday’s concert at the Ole Tyme Italian Cuisine was extra special as Dr. Sabrina Quintana, Assistant Director of Curriculum & Instruction for Music, sent four members of Lynn’s string ensemble. Lynn Rotarian and Past President Steve Upton, longtime public school administrator, coordinated the event.
Medford Rotarians gathered together with their friends, neighbors and co-works to donate to the Mission of Deeds, 2nd annual coat drive. Mission of Deeds serves thousands of families and individuals throughout Middlesex and Essex counties. Our clients include the veterans, previously homeless, survivors of domestic abuse, refugees, the elderly, victims of fire or other tragedies, and those with disabilities. They strive to provide them with New beds, coaches (gently used) and household items such as pots & pans, blankets and sheets.
We had a great turn out and prepared over 60 Holiday Food Baskets for the communities of Salem & Hampstead NH on December 15th. We're especially grateful to the Salem NH Fire Dept for housing this project AND delivering them to the lucky homes!
The Rotary Club of North Reading recently hosted a holiday party at Peabody Court. The event welcomed seniors and residents to enjoy lunch and caroling. This year, attendees were treated to singing by the Interact Club, Peabody Court staff, Rotarians and volunteers. North Reading Rotary would like to thank Elder Services Director Mary Prenney and Maureen Hickey for their assistance with the event.
The Gloucester Rotary Club collected over sixty toys in early December that were donated to Action, Inc.'s Project Uplift to support North Shore families.
Members of the Rotary Club of Chelsea rang the bells for the Chelsea Salvation Army at the Chelsea Market Basket. The Chelsea Rotarians volunteer their services every year to cover both doors of the Market Basket for one full day.
The Manchester-Essex Club awarded two past presidents with Paul Harris pins. At our annual holiday meeting Chris Shea and Dave Ray received the coveted pins. For Chris Shea, an active member since 1980, this was his third Paul Harris pin. Wives, Katy Shea and Debbie Ray were in attendance to share the honor.
