And if Rotary Youth Exchange has made a positive impact on your life, or if you’re excited about participating in the future, please share this video to let others know about this transformative program.
District Announces PolioPLUS Society
DG Alexander Falk, DRFC Joan Arsenault and PolioPLUS Chair Ingrid Brown are excited to announce D7930 will be launching the PolioPLUS Society in our district.
Join this new society by pledging to donate a minimum of US$100 each year until the world is certified polio free. Everyone who joins before World Polio Day, which is October 24, 2022, will be considered a charter member of D7930’s Polio Plus Society.
Joining the Society is a 2-step process:
1st Step, complete the PolioPlus Society Form at this link: D7930 PolioPLUS Society Sign Up Form.
2nd Step, make your donation. You can choose to donate in various ways, either by credit card online, or by check.  If you choose to donate by check, make the check out to “The Rotary Foundation” with “PolioPlus” in the memo section and submit to your club’s Foundation Chair.  If you choose a credit card, go to, click on donate and choose “Polio Fund.”  (To donate online, make sure you have registered on for a My Rotary account for you and your club to receive proper credit.  Signing up is quick and easy). You can then:
• Make a onetime donation of $100 (or more) with your credit card by clicking on the “One-time donation” button and choosing the appropriate amount from the boxes below.  Remember to donate again next year if you choose this option.
Greater Salem NH Awards Scholarships
Each year we in the Greater Salem NH Rotary notify the high schools in our five communities of Salem, Pelham, Windham, Atkinson, and Hampstead requesting applicants for our Scholarship Awards.
This year we chose eight applicants based on their scholastic achievement and their community service. We had the pleasure of presenting the award in person to six of the students who were available to attend out meeting.
The selected students demonstrated their ability to achieve a high level of accomplishments in studies, leadership, interest and service in their communities, and some extended their compassion to a third world country.
Our best wishes to our future leaders as they enter a new chapter in their life by attending the college of their choice.  Pictured here scholarship recipients Donovan Homsey, Jordan Krahn, Gabrielle Driggers, Mahi Patel, Katrina Souter and Kyleigh Walker
Wakefield Offers Chance to See Sox Up Close
The Wakefield Rotary Club will again be hosting a Red Sox ticket chance at the WCAT Movies by the Lake.  Thanks to a generous donation from Wakefield Rotarian Frank Fiorentino and Mahoney, Fiorentino, and Co., PC, raffle participants can win a pair of tickets for the Red Sox versus the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.  Club President Gene Mullen said, “This is an easy way to win some great Sox seats and support local causes through Rotary.”  The previous raffle drew in over $2,000 which was donated back to the community throughout the year.
Ticket chances cost twenty-five dollars and the prize includes two seats at Fenway between the visitor on-deck circle and home plate.  The value of the pair of tickets is about $275.  Last year’s ticket winner, Jonathan Chines said, “I’ve never sat so close to home plate! The seats were amazing, and we had a great time.”
Tickets are on sale during the Movies by the Lake on the Common.  Visit the Rotary table to grab your chance to win.  Tickets are also available at WCAT (24 Hemlock Road) and from any Wakefield Rotarian.  You can also Venmo the club @wakefieldrotaryclub. Indicate “sox raffle” in the memo and provide your contact information.  The winning ticket will be pulled at 8:00pm on Thursday August 4th at the Movies by the Lake event.
