District Governor Curious Zoom
Nominations for District Governor are extended through November 30th.  Is there a Past President in your club whom you think would make a great District Governor? Come and explore the nuts and bolts of being the DG. To help answer your questions, a group of Past District Governors would like you to join them in a zoom presentation, “Are you DG Curious?” on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7pm.

Follow this link to register and you will receive an email with the zoom link the week before the event.

So how do you report your Hero and assign Paul Harris points?  Go to our District Foundation Hero Submisson Page here.  Appreciate everyone's excitement for this incredible event.  If your club needs points to assign, let us know.  Please contact Peter Majane or Governor Terry with questions.

Measles Is Back. We Cannot Let Polio Come Back.
America’s measles resurgence should concern more than parents. It should remind all of us why the world cannot afford to stop short of polio eradication.

The United States is experiencing its worst measles year in decades. Most cases have occurred among people who were unvaccinated or whose vaccination status was unknown. Measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000, yet declining vaccination coverage has created openings for the virus to return.

That is an important warning for the fight against polio.

After four decades of sustained global effort, wild poliovirus remains endemic in only Afghanistan and Pakistan. We are closer than ever to eradication, but the final mile is also the most difficult. Reaching every child requires continued vaccination, disease surveillance, community engagement, and adequate funding.

Measles and polio are different diseases, but they teach the same lesson: public health victories do not sustain themselves.  When vaccination coverage falls, surveillance weakens, or funding disappears, preventable diseases find the gaps.

Environmental Committee Speaker Series

The District Environmental Committee is planning several speakers in the upcoming Rotary Year. We are starting with the first speaker on Oct. 29th at 7pm on Green and Natural Burials. This is an important topic we'd all like to avoid, but it's important to know all of your options to make the right decision for you. Please join us on Zoom as Lauren Campbell, Funeral Director and Owner of Campbell Funeral Home, educates us on Green and Natural Burials. Please contact me for the zoom link (Andrea - amlacroix@yahoo.com).

Stoneham Town Day
Town Day 2026? Done and delicious!

Stoneham Rotary rolled in with a shiny new tent (seriously, it was a stunner), a powerhouse setup crew, our amazing SHS Interact students, and the team from MacDonald House, and a whole lot of ice cream-loving Town Day visitors.

Thanks to everyone who set up, scooped, topped, donated, or devoured a sundae and cleaned up, we raised funds for our scholarship program and tons of other good stuff we do all year. We even shared our leftover ice cream and toppings with Stoneham Coalition's Recovery Fest — sweet in every way!

Want to know more about us? Join us for lunch on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Local 438 Grille located at 125 Main Street in Stoneham.
Veterans Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Rotary Club of Burlington partnered with the Disabled and Limbless Veterans on Saturday, October 3rd to collect non-perishable Thanksgiving food items and toiletries to help support local Veterans during the holiday season. It was a great event that included volunteers from both the Burlington Rotary and Interact club. Our goal is to make this a yearly tradition.
